ALERT: Keep the body gel they give you complimentary! I have no idea what they put in it, but I use it on my face as a moisturizer. Every single time I use it, I always get comments that my face is glowing. ||||COMPARED TO ARRENAS: I also stayed in Arrenas during my same trip to Mancora. I would say that if you want a more intimate experience, less people, and more quiet, then go to DCO. If still want a beautiful hotel but would like to see more people around, bring your family, have more space in your room, or larger grounds to walk around on, then stay at Arrenas. Both hotels are incredibly hospitable but have fairly different themes.||||DCO is an absolute dream, exemplary customer service. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the welcoming staff and relieved of all my bags. Every room has a stunning view and balcony. When I walked into my room, I was greeted with champagne, fruit, and chocolate. The atmosphere is incredibly serene as it fairly secluded. The design has a cool feel and every aspect is meant to channel relaxation.||||During my stay, it felt as if everything was centered around me. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. The food was some of the best food I had in Mancora and Lima.||||However, I will say this. I am not sure if all the rooms are the same size but my room was on the smaller side. It was gorgeous. But still fairly small. ||||LOCATION: DCO is a little far off from the center of Mancora, 2.5 miles to be exact. If you want to take surf lessons, you will need to take a motor from the hotel. You could also run along the beach and get to Mancora center easily and it is a gorgeous run.||||PRICE: DCO is about $200 US dollars a night. In my opinion, it is worth it if you want a relaxing and...
Read moreOh my gosh what a dream DCO is. I would give them a 6 star review if allowed. What a fantastic location perched right on the beach. There are other great lodges I am sure but if looking for rest, relaxation and to be taken care of there can be no better. The service here is beyond exceptional. Jorge, Pedro, Dianna and the entire staff took the best care of us we could have ever imagined. We were there for an extended stay and we did feel like family by the time we left. The food is really really good and they will go over the top to try and accommodate any wants/needs you may have. Location is far enough away from Mancora to enjoy the peace and quiet of the beach but close enough to walk along the beach (just under an hour) or take a quick Moto to town. Also the ocean at DCO was usable, with almost no rocks in the water right in front of the hotel (you still need to be careful) we were in the ocean every day. This is a small hotel so if looking for lots of socializing etc as noted just down the beach is Arrenas and it is definitely bigger and surely more people but during Covid we wanted to avoid a lot of people. What a gem this hotel is though it is really all about the staff...
Read moreWe decided to spend the last couple of days of our honeymoon at the DCO in Mancora. After 2 weeks of traveling through Peru it turned out to be the perfect location to relax. We were pleasantly surprised at how luxurious the hotel was, our expectations were surpassed as the complex looks even nicer in real life than on the photos (which were already beautiful). The staff greeted us in a heartwarming manner even though we arrived late at night and the service was more than great for the rest of our stay (which was unfortunately too short). All our wishes were met in full and our stay was absolutely wonderful. The rooms were modern and very clean. We had booked a room with ocean view and had (to our delight) quite a large balcony with a perfect view. The food was excellent, offering multiple cuisines all tasting fabulous. We can only recommend a stay here, our time at the DCO was a beautiful experience and we thank the staff for making it so...
