It's a fire trap. I wish i were kidding, or exaggerating but I'm not..people will die here:
Whenever i attempted to use an electrical outlet in any room..sparks flew and things fell out of the wall.
The rooms are disgusting. The bright side is it is so far into nature ( up the hill, which is the best part of the hostel) that rats prefer to live outside.
I was warned to not go upstairs..to the common room..because the roof could collapse. But people sleep up there.
The building is built i side a hole..for ecological purposes.i dunno..but when you try and sit in one of the two broken hammocks in the narrow..patio (i guess that is what you could call it) you literally look UP into cow udders.
As is normal for all hostels in peru no one is a paid worker..your experience varies depending upon which northern European volunteer you are hooking up with.
The kitchen is narrow and empty all day except then suddenly jammed with people no one has ever seen before..but only at meal times. I suppose they live in tents somewhere. It is a really strange place but maybe awesome if the price is the only...

There are some nice communal spaces to watch TV or play games or do yoga.
Our room was clean but a lot of things in the hostel seem to be broken or breaking (curtain pole fell a few times, drawer handle broke in our room with a lil pull, one toilet downstairs was blocked the whole week or two we were there and another toilet seemed to leak). Not sure why some things do not get fixed but no complaints for 30 sol private room
Showers are warm from solar system once you get the hang of how it works...
I am really grateful they have a water filter directly from the tap and a good sized kitchen/outdoor...
