You'd think for the outrageous price that this hotel is charging that you'd get luxury back in return. I have one word for that: monopoly. Piura is not a tourist town, and I suspect that many visitors are professional or business, rather than tourist class. There aren't many good hotels to choose from, and el Angolo knows it. ||||The rooms of Angolo are very strangely designed. The first room we had was L-shaped, dark, old, had bare flourescent lighting, cobwebs by the bathroom, mismatched and thin bed linens and room furniture. I swear I was in the twilight zone. They were renovating so I guess they knew that it needed an update. Highlight of the hotel included a skunk being chased and netted out of the pool. We got hung up on a few times by reception staff who spoke little to no English. Good restaurant ar 2 minute walk to the left going out from the hotel.||Conclusion:|I didn't get what I paid for, next time I rather pay twice the price and stay at the Rio Verde Hotel 2 minutes walking from there.|It was good that I stayed...
Read moreI have been staying here for a week and I am not too impressed! The rooms here are adequate but everything else is just OK. The pool is tiny & crammed between 2 buildings, the breakfast is simple & offers very little variety, day after day, I have only luke warm water every morning for a shower, the restaurant is very expensive, small portions, & not very good, parking is minimal & on a very steep incline, and the gymnasium has old, worn out machines. The hotel staff are the only shining light here! This hotel is trying hard to look more expensive than it ever could be. There is renovations & construction going on all over the hotel. I would definitely pay the little extra and stay nearby, at...
