Our visit here started out as 5 stars. Everything was nice about the hotel. Friendly staff, well built and attractive hotel, nice rooms. We rented two rooms, 505 (suite with Jacuzzi) and 509 (normal 2 double beds). We got a slight discount for booking two nights there. The Jacuzzi room had a great view, Jacuzzi worked great. Hot water took awhile to come but it eventually came and was nice.
Our first problem was that the pump below the air conditioner was streaming water down the wall and onto the floor. We notified the front desk and they sent someone quickly, but that person did not actually do anything. It started happening again right away. Next person came and tapped on the little pump box and it started working. But, this pump is extremely loud. So it made the air conditioning unusable at night. We found that the other room we rented had the exact same issue with it being loud. I don't know why they put in nice air conditioners and cheap water pumps that were not quiet but it really was overlooked.
Our second issue came when we were trapped in the elevator. It's a small elevator and on the outside it clearly says max 4 people. Now while technically we had 5 people in the elevator, one was my 3 year old 33 lb son and one was my 1 year old 20 lb daughter, so they don't even equal half a person. We didn't have any luggage and the 3 adults we are all thin. It got stuck half way between floor 1 and 2. They were able to reset it quickly, but it tried to continue up and just had the same problem again. They reset it again and I repeatedly pressed the 1 button to go down to the first floor and it did go back down. BTW there is no air conditioning when they reset the elevator. So we just stopped using it after that. If you dare to use it, I think the real max is 2 people, not 4 like advertised. What made it worse is after getting off, the employee that was talking with us outside blamed it on us having "5" people, which as mentioned above is not really accurate. Elevators are based on weight capacity, not number of people.
Our third problem was that we were told at check in (on a Saturday) that the room included free breakfast. We called the next day (Sunday) to inquire about it and they said it's only Monday through Saturday (not Sunday). So that's one lost free breakfast. Sunday night after returning to the hotel to get the keys, we were told because of our "special rate", we were not allowed to have free breakfast. They never told this to us at the time of checking in.
So, at the end of the day it was a nice hotel, without AC at night, with a questionable elevator and no free breakfast as far as we could tell. Next time we would probably stay somewhere else, but we could end up back here, just with the knowledge above...
Read moreStayed 4 days and have a mixed experience. Clean, comfortable quiet room to the rear. Staff is very friendly and helpful. AC was very good but room lighting is inadequate. Breakfast (included) is satisfactory, always eggs, dry white rolls, & bad coffee. Wifi works mostly and hot water is very unreliable (2 out of 4 days). Toilet seat was disconnected but bathroom is nicely upgraded. Advertised "environmental" policy is overlooked as they insisted on new sheets and towels daily despite my request otherwise. Elevator capacity seems to...
