I was traveling with two colleagues on a trip through Latin America. We started our trip with a three-day stay at Eywa Lodge. I can already tell you now: It was the absolute highlight of the whole Latin America trip. We flew from Europe via Lima to Iquitos. There we were picked up at the airport by a very nice guide named Marden. On the way to our hotel in Iquitos, Marden gave us a warm welcome. Once we arrived at our very clean hotel, we had the opportunity to freshen up. During the city tour that followed, he told us many interesting things about the history and people of the region. Iquitos itself is already an experience, there are masses of tucktucks, delicious restaurants and a lot of traffic. Early the next morning we were taken by a big car to Nauta. After a city tour with tasting of fresh fruit we went by boat into the jungle to the Eywa Lodge. The boat ride goes partly through the beginning of the Amazon River, which is an impressive scenery. Than we arrived at Eywa Lodge. A long and beautiful wooden staircase leads to the reception of the Eywa Lodge. There we were greeted by the boss Keyla herself and extremely friendly. Everything was taken care of and we could move directly into our bungalow without any delay. This consisted of a large room with (in our case three single beds). In addition, there was a bathroom with a sink and a shower in the room. We had running water at all times during the trip! After a substantial lunch, we had time to ourselves to first arrive and already breathe some Jungle air. After an excellent dinner, we went on a night hike, equipped with rubber boots and flashlights. Marden guided us safely through the jungle. The next morning our alarm clock went off very early, because we had agreed with Marden to look for and feed monkeys. And we were indeed lucky and saw and fed wild monkeys. The following breakfast was extensive and gave us enough strength to survive another exciting Jungle Safari. After lunch that day we went by boat to see the dolphins and were lucky again and spotted several of them. They were really close to our boat and very impressive! The next morning we went fishing for piranhas. We proudly handed over the caught piranhas to our cook and at dinner they were super prepared on our plates. In the meantime we visited the nearby village with its indigenous people. Unexpectedly, a sudden rain shower intervened and we were welcomed by the villagers with open arms in their home. All the people we met were very helpful and extremely friendly. The last evening we shared our experiences of the trip with each other over a pisco, made by Keyla herself, and sat comfortably together in the chillout area. The next day we made a last Jungle Safari on which we saw again several snakes and also sloths. Afterwards we were brought back to Iquitos. Now we come to the detailed description of the Eywa Lodge: The lodge is located on a branch of the Amazon tributary. It is secluded and surrounded by tall jungle trees. All buildings of the lodge are built on stilts and connected by walkways. From the boat, stairs and a walkway lead to the reception. There is a reception, a lounge including a bar and chillout area, a dining room and four bungalows for rent. Eywa Lodge is very luxuriously furnished and leaves nothing to be desired. With the all-inclusive offer you are well taken care of and don't need to worry about anything. I would especially like to emphasize the lounge and the bungalows, these rooms are furnished so that you feel comfortable from the first minute. All rooms are sealed with mosquito nets, so you can spend your free time without mosquitoes. Overall, I would like to tell you: It was a real luxury vacation in the middle of the Jungle We had an incredibly wonderful time and have gained endless impressions. The entire staff of the Eywa Lodge is extremely obliging and helpful. You have the feeling that you belong to a big family! I can only say it was my first visit to Eywa Lodge, but definitely not my last!!! Many thanks to Keyla and her team who made it all possible!

A spectacular jungle retreat! Keyla, our host, was promptly in touch via WhatsApp to organise the finer details including our transfer from the airport. Our flight arrived extremely early in the morning - yet we were greeted with smiles by Freddy (guide), Carlos (driver) and Keyla herself. About 1h 40m drive to Nauta where we were met by our boat captain - who drove us for about another 40m on the Amazon River to our lodging! Each guest is treated with care and kindness - we were made to feel incredible special with the entire team going above and beyond to make this a trip of a lifetime. Everyone was always willing to lend a hand and have a chat! Shout out to the chef as well who always pulled together incredible meals/juices and happily looked after dietaries as well. Eywa is unique as it only offers private tours per guest/group - which makes this even more special as it’s incredibly personal and everyone involved is truly local/indigenous with so much knowledge to offer. Cleaver (our resident boat captain) and Freddy (local guide) accompanied us for each of the excursions and ensured we covered not only what was planned as part of the package - but also what we wanted to see/do. We always felt safe and covered/saw more than we could’ve imagined. We only wish we could’ve spent more time here! The trip to the local village was really special - as most of the staff live there and we were able to meet their loved ones and play volleyball/soccer with them as the sun went down. Highly recommend checking out the handicraft stall, makes for great souvenirs and trinkets to remember the trip! Our room was well protected with mosquito nets and a fan than helped circulate the cool night air - it was wonderful to dose off to the sounds of the jungle. Best sleep I’ve had in a long time! The resident toucan was a treat as well, make sure you ask the staff about her - alongside the (not so) fierce guard dog Campeón and his puppies! The watchtower with the rocking chair is a brilliant spot to sit back and take it all in too (the 24/7 coffee hits the spot). As we finished up, everything was planned to perfection. We even managed to squeeze in a sunrise tour ahead of the transfer back to the airport, with plenty of time to spare. A big thank you to Keyla and team for maintaining the local flavour, investing in the communities there - and most of all making it so personal and full of joy. We appreciate it more than you know 🙏🏾

Literally at the airport right now. Sat waiting to leave and i couldn’t wait to write a review. The last 5 days have been so incredible and the hospitality was second to none. The team can’t do enough to make sure you enjoy your stay. The food was visually beautiful and meals were all freshly made and tasted delicious. They even catered for someone gluten intolerant and me who hates fish (i know i know). Hicler was my guide and they really do mean private tours. Every trip out was just me Hicler and our driver and whatever i wanted to see they would make happen. It was truly magical given these are wild animals in their natural habitats. The guides have so much knowledge (although i did tell my guide he could tell me anything and i would believe him. There are serveal guides and they all appeared to approach thing differently but they all listened. Hicler was fab because he could tell i wanted a chill week. no rushing and some catching up on sleep with several 2am wake ups to just get there from london. Whilst we visited it was rainy season but that didn’t stop a single thing. We even managed an afternoon hiking. I will say though i have a new fear of ants i never had before. The room were comfortable and equipped with toilets and showers. Let me tell you how fantastic a cold shower is when your out in that heat. One day we even went for a swim. I was so scared and hesitant but it was the best experience and i’m glad i did. Hicler our guide even listened to me when i say i wanted to go at a specific time that wasn’t in the programme. We saw so many birds, sloths, anteaters, dolphins, monkeys, iguanas and more. Love love loved it! I would take this experience over one of the lavish boat cruises we saw that had packed boats and not feeling of one on one interaction. Again it was incredible and if i could i would visit again! Highly recommend.
