So lets be perfectly honest about what you are getting yourself into if you go here. This is meant to be honest for anyone not accustomed to being in the outdoors or in tropical climates (I am) and later I will get into the reward and incredible experience of this magical place. It is the rainforest. Yes it may rain every day. It WILL be warm. It WILL be humid. There WILL be insects and mosquitoes aplenty. The accommodations are not sterile or bug proof, there will be bugs in your room, but if you accept this is their home and use the appropriate precautions, (I recommend the insect repellent lotion and long sleeve fishing shirts/pants), you will be fine and have the experience of a lifetime. And one more thing, there's no hot water, and no air conditioning, but ceiling fan and oscillating fan. It's fine really. Not even a problem for me but hearing others complain about this I thought I would be upfront with it. So the lifetime experience thing! Yeah, you can't beat an all inclusive facility that lets you decide what excursions you want to experience. The meals were simply delicious. Fancy at times, but altogether balanced and others had their dietary needs accommodated. They always have filtered water to drink, tea, coffee and snacks if wanted. Meals are served on time in a dining room. The servers and bartender is extremely friendly and kind if you take the time to get to know them as is the kitchen staff, they mostly speak Spanish but some can speak a lot of English and you can often find a translator. They are extremely accommodating and try to please even the fussiest guests. There is a common area above the dining room and it is screened and has sitting areas and hammocks for relaxing. There is wifi in this area as well as in the dining area. There is no wifi in the rooms or the rest of the property, but honestly who the heck needs it? The treehouses are very quaint and as others have said it is glamping at its finest. A private shower, toilet and sink is quite the luxury. Once you get past not having hot water you soon realize you will be hot and sweaty and it wont really matter. Everyone is sweaty, everyone gets wet, if you do just lay your clothes out or hang them in front of a fan and it will be fine. The mosquito netting protects you while sleeping as long as you don't leave it open. They also put mosquito coils in the room at night to deter mosquitos. There are some stairs to climb and some suspended walkways so it is essential to be able to navigate these and houses 1 and 2 (we stayed in 2) are the easiest to get in and closest to the dining room. It would be challenging for people with disabilities or balance issues. So the excursions are the heart and soul of this magical place. Our guide, Osmar, and our boat driver Jayner took VERY good care of two 50 something women of average fitness. We were shown so many different species of birds, monkeys, and 7 sloths. We also saw pink dolphins, frogs, snakes, and caimans, as well as many different medicinal plants. Even on a day that we had lots of rain, they brought in a local woman to do crafts with us so we made our own bracelets. Every excursion brought so many wonderful gifts and experience, even when we got wet. The rainforest is magical and it was a special privilege to be guided through it by those who call it home and can share not only the wildlife and plants but also the ancestral beliefs and history of the region. This is a once in a lifetime experience for anyone with the adventurous heart and spirit and the willingness to live outside the boundaries of your comfort zone. Muchos gracias to all the wonderful staff and guides of the Treehouse...

Read moreWe had an unforgettable time at the Treehouse Lodge this past end of December 2024. ||We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights, which felt like plenty to experience the best of what the lodge offers. The private tour was very flexible, and we were able to do everything we wanted—and more.||Our main guide, Roberto, was an absolute gem who genuinely cared about making our trip special. Having grown up surrounded by the selva (jungle), he was incredibly knowledgeable about all the animals, birds, and plants we encountered.||Our boat driver, Juan, was also an essential part of our team. He skillfully navigated challenging situations, such as maneuvering around massive tree logs during our excursions, and always made us feel safe and in good hands. Both Roberto and Juan had eagle eyes, allowing us to spot an incredible variety of wildlife. Nature is unpredictable, but their determination to help us see the top animals on our list made the experience all the more meaningful.||The rest of the staff was equally kind and welcoming. Levi, who served our meals, always greeted us with a warm smile. Despite our vegetarian diet, the kitchen staff went above and beyond to create delicious and varied meals for us, which we deeply appreciated.||The treehouses themselves were a unique adventure. You’re truly immersed in nature, which is both thrilling and unforgettable. If you’re sensitive to early morning light and jungle sounds, we recommend bringing an eye mask and earplugs. We stayed in both Treehouse 4 and Treehouse 6. Treehouse 6, located farther from the main comedor, offered stunning panoramic views of the jungle—perfect for the adventurous at heart. However, if you’re less comfortable with bugs and wildlife, a treehouse closer to the main area might be a better choice.||In terms of packing, we brought backpacks instead of large suitcases, which worked well. You likely won’t want to bring big luggage up to your treehouse, even though the staff is happy to help. We left our larger bags at their office in Iquitos, and it was a great decision, especially since the humidity can cause clothes to smell.||For clothing, wearing thin long sleeves and impermeable trousers (not tight to the skin) was a great choice to protect against mosquitoes. Despite precautions, expect to get bitten on your hands and face unless you use a hat with a net. We used Ben’s mosquito repellent with 98% DEET, which helped. The lodge provides rain boots for walking excursions, which are essential for navigating muddy or rain-soaked trails.||At night, a mosquito net hat is essential, as mosquitoes are attracted to flashlights. Even with repellent, they can be relentless. We visited during the rainy season, which may have contributed to this. However, visiting at this time was worth it because the high water levels allowed us to explore more of the Amazon.||Our excursions, whether during the day or at night, in tropical rain or sunshine, were absolutely magical. The entire experience was seamless, thanks to the incredible staff and the breathtaking beauty of the Amazon.||We would absolutely recommend Treehouse Lodge and would love to...
