Booked the hotel as a romantic night for my partner and I. ||As we showed there was no one at reception, this place looked abandoned and we had to look for the (very helpful and friendly) gardener to help us. ||After calling the host, he mentioned that he just saw our reservation, but that just the night before there where issues with out room and he could not offer the room we booked. ||As we paid for a suite with a jacuzzi, we where we expecting another option as the property has many 2 story bungalows and multiple room with jacuzzi. ||But no, the manager gave us a small room, ni balcony, no jacuzzi and a room with cigarette filters outside of patio. We asked if we could use the spa services, but no we had to wait 3 hours for it to warm up. ||The restaurant and the bar would not open for another 3 hours as well, and no to forget, the surroundings are stunning. But there are no shops, restaurants or bars in the area as you are in the hills 15min from the town Urubamba. ||When I asked if I could see the room I initially reserved, he said that there where people working on the jacuzzi, and that he didn’t have the keys. ||To us it seemed like a lot of BS, maybe a double booked room, but definitely miss management and a disappointment. Thanks to the great service from hotels.com. We got a refund and have found a great hotel downtown with breathtaking views and spa services that don’t take 3 hours enter. ||Loved the idea of Sacred dreams, but it was a great...
Read moreOur group of 9 stayed there for our visit to Machu Picchu. The Lodge is gorgeously nestled in a natural setting. We stayed in the villas which were very comfortable, tastefully decorated in local decor and with a fire place which the staff offered to light up every night. For some of us that did not want the fireplace they provided space heaters. The grounds were meticulously maintained, the Staff were OUTSTANDING, the restaurant food was fresh and tasty. Since we celebrated a birthday there, the staff baked us a delicious cake. Everyone made us feel very welcome and at home. A special mention/shout out to the owner's son Mauricio, a delightful young man of 14, who made it a point to bring his portable speaker so he could play the Happy Birthday song. Overall an amazing experience. Remember the local roads in Urubamba are narrow and winding, so getting to the lodge is interesting. Overall an...
Read moreI was excited to come to the spa with a friend and when we arrived, we felt a little rushed to do the massage and didn’t have the option to do the sauna first. The massages were OK, not the best and not the worst. The jacuzzi and sauna were amazing and we enjoyed them very much! We had to pay extra for wine, which was disappointing because we were offered free wine or juice but they only gave us free juice without asking us what we preferred. Check out is why I am giving this place 3 stars… the woman at check out was a little rude in being mad that we didn’t bring Id, when no one told us we needed to. Then she gave us a hard time when we were trying to pay and kept arguing. We felt uncomfortable leaving what was supposed to be a relaxing experience. We will...
