Las Casitas del Arco Iris — Hotel in Urubamba

I can not say enough wonderful things about our stay here. It was definitely one of the many highlights of our trip to Peru. From the moment we made contact they were very informative & promptly responded to questions. Our taxi transport from the airport was arranged by the hotel it was flawless we ended using the driver for the week. We purposely picked this hotel knowing it was helping a good cause that we are passionate about. We homeschool my son so it was wonderful for him to interact with the children.||The lodging, the grounds the people that work here all left us speechless simply amazing. The bungalow was very comfortable, the open fireplace a nice treat.The bathroom & cosmetics were also exceptional. The grounds here are very pretty super peaceful. We were the only ones staying at the time so we pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves. After enjoying the home cooked food here we decided to eat here every night as it was so good. In Las Casitas, you get the feeling that you are part of something bigger, as they are generously showing you around the premises of the school. We were amazed! Las Casitas is operated by an organization called Niños del Arcoiris and provides education and coaching to underprivileged children. There are only a few bungalows for guests, and we were fortunate to stay in one of them. The design of the bungalows is a bit fairytale-like. They all have fireplaces and feel very “homy”. The staff had arranged with logs and eucalyptus branches in the room so it should be easy for us to make a cosy fire in the evening. Valeria was greeting us with a smile, proud to answer all our thousands of questions. She had arranged for a guided tour of the school, that they run for these children. The tour was amazing - to see how much love and energy had gone into this concept! The breakfast was excellent, and the food in general as well! If you are into spiritual experiences - this would be the place! The hotel helped to arrange for a meeting with a Shaman, sound-healing, Yoga and more. Amazing place! Right into the nature, beautiful green areas, forest, silence, a lovely place to relax and balance. The houses are spacious, with a lot of light, fire place, very modern bathroom, very cozy and homy. :-) And with a terrace from which you can enjoy the green views.|The small restaurant in the hotel complex provides a cozy atmosphere with a fire place, nice music and lovely organic food. The breakfasts are healthy and delicious, and you can also order lunch and dinner. Strongly recommended.|There is also a place (Dome) with lovely acoustic, a place for meditations, yoga, sound healing, and other preferred activities. :-)|In addition, Las Casitas del Arco Iris are a part of the Foundation Los Niños del Arco Iris, and you can see the incredible conditions created for the education and the health care of more than 200 children from Urubamba. A part of the income from the hotel accommodation goes for the school and the kids.
