Hotel La Maison Suisse — Hotel in Vista Alegre

We camped in our van in the yard behind the hotel, for which the hotel charges 40 soles (about $15 USD). The camping spot was nice enough, but the bathroom and shower they allow you to use as a camper are disgusting. They're located in an unused hotel room at the back of the hotel, and from the looks of it, the bathroom is never cleaned. The walls are peeling, there's netting to cover a big open area in the ceiling and the netting is torn and useless, there are cockroaches running all over the place. The wi-fi that is advertised wasn't working, and we were told it was a problem with all of Nazca at the moment, but when we went to an internet center in town, it was working fine. We asked for a discount for the terrible conditions, but were given none. The excuse was that the administrator wasn't in at the moment and they couldn't reach her by telephone. ||||This may be the only place that offers camping in Nazca, but if you can find anything else, I would recommend...

The campsite is good - flat grassy area with access to average toilets, paved poolside area and the restaurant. The rooms are good if you get one of the newer ones, comfy beds, spacey and fresh towels. However, the showers are terrible! It's next to the airport which is good as the main reason people visit Nazca is for the flight to see the lines. Beware that if you're seeking a quiet location this isn't ideal with the airport over the road. It seems that lots of tour groups stop here, and we were no exception.||||It was a budget tour, so many people chose to Cs,p, but we paid the extra for a room, which wasn't bad, but not great.||||The wifi was non existent and the water (hot and cold) failed in the am, which made showering (and flushing the toilet) difficult, but this was resolved prior to departure. The pool and restaurant really weren't up to be used, so it fell short in a few areas.||||Not the best experience, but after a single night stay, we got back in the road and headed for lima.
