I recently stayed at Hillcreek Gardens to attend a wedding, and the location is just so refreshing and serene. If you’re looking to get away from the city, this is it.
Location: It is about 10-15 minutes away by car to the busy Tagaytay areas like Taal Vista and Skyranch, and easily accessible thru the new Calax.
Ambiance: Hillcreek’s lush greenery is just heaven. The sprawling grounds will help you forget that right outside is a busy road. There’s a lot of trees and flowers and open spaces, and the air is fresh and cold. Bring a jacket just to be sure.
Rooms: I stayed in the Casitas area, which is where their older rooms are housed. The rooms are comfy, not big but not small either. Bathrooms are okay but a little on the older side, and a little narrow. Closets come with an ironing board (useful!). The extra bed was surprisingly comfy. The window looks out onto the terrace, but you will be seen from the outside since the path outside is right by the window.
Food: The Blue Room is where the breakfast buffet is served. Lovely dining area with indoor and outdoor seating. There’s a fair amount of choices for breakfast ranging from salad, to bread and jam, to the typical Filipino meal, among others. The most memorable part of breakfast has to be the taho display in the corner that serves real taho—warm and sweet! You can also order from their menu during lunch or dinner which is pretty convenient.
Service: The overall service of Hillcreek Gardens is exemplary. Wherever you go, you will be greeted by staff with a bright smile. Need something? No problem. Lost? No problem. Staff are really really easy to speak to.
Parking: Hillcreek Gardens comes with some parking slots, but may be challenging if multiple events or a wedding is happening since it’s limited. I didn’t count but you can probably fit about 20 vehicles, with some manoeuvring required.
Cons: The plenty of open spaces means that when it rains/drizzles, you will get wet when moving from some buildings to the next. It happened to rain/drizzle quite a bit during our stay so getting back to our rooms when this happened was a little bothersome.
There are a lot of steps going to the various locations, so older people might find it difficult to get around. There are ramps and roads inside, but they’re not all linked together so certain areas are not as accessible by car or wheelchair.
Going up and down the steps when it’s wet/drizzling is also something to watch out for.
Overall, I feel like the few cons of the location are far outweighed by the beautiful location, good food and great staff service. Very nice place to have weddings and parties, and to...
Read moreApril, 2018 - First of all, I really like the place for events but you may encounter minor issues and this review is very constructive feedbacks. 😊
We stayed here for a night for a wedding occasion and at the same time a family bonding as well. We stayed in a Master Suite 1 for 7 pax and I could say the room is huge and very spacious, though, it seems very old already. I think they are aware of that bcoz you may smell the room that is why the provide a humidifier in the room to reduce that smell but I’m okay with that. 👌🏼My only concern is the bathroom which I’m particular in a hotel which I noticed the toilet bowl it takes time to flush and you can noticed a white stains on both toilet and sink which bcoz its color black. I’m disappointed on the shower bcoz there’s no hot water and not only that even I turned the shower into maximum level the water flow is too weak. I’ll be happy to use a timba and tabo but it’s funny to have that in a 4-star or 5-star hotel. So, the next day we took a shower to swimming pool area which is more better than our room. 😬 I hope the management will look into this bcoz its a serious issue for the guests especially if you have one common bathroom with 7-pax.
Another thing during check-in time, the FO are engaged on the phone but i have to wait for more than 15-mins before she entertain me and there’s a trainee on her side which for me they can assist the phone enquiry and assisted me for my check-in. In fact, its already prepared on their side and I just need to sign a pay the deposit which can settle in few minutes rather than waiting for 15mins.
But, aside from those negative feedbacks I could say that the place is really the best wedding destinations and they maintain the sceneries with green and beautiful landscapes. I love the new The Blue Dining Room where we had our breakfast and looks elegant with tables and chairs arrangement. I didn’t roam around but I believe the hotel is on-going constructions for expansions. I appreciate the eco-friendly of the hotel because of landscape and relaxing ambiance. 👍🏻
I still recommend this hotel for those planning on their wedding occasions and other events. Their garden is best location for reception and hopefully they take seriously those feedbacks for more...
Read moreWe took their wedding package originally but since they won't give us an idea of how the theme and styling would look like, they kept saying that the theme we want has to be upgraded for $50 per table, so we decided to switch caterers. We went and ask how it is going to be if we wanted a refund, and the sales said even if the wedding is cancelled we won't get anything refunded for what we paid for which was PHP 190,000. Since then, the sales agent became cold with us and began to charge us for every single thing, we had to pay PHP 150,000 for the venue even if it's written on their brochure when we booked that it is PHP 140,000, she said they raised the price. We were expecting that with this price they would provide atleast a powder room for the entourage since most of my family guests pretty much stayed at their hotel but the sales agent said she will have to charge us PHP 1500 per hour for a powder room that has one mirror and one washroom. She won't even allow us to use the hallway to our reception hall to serve drinks. I am very disappointed with how inconsiderate and unwilling this sales person is as she is also the senior sales and marketing agent of this place. The rooms smell old and there's no wifi coverage in our Casitas. As for someone who works overseas and saved up so much for a wedding, I wish I have looked around first before booking this place. As for the staff of the hotel, they're all nice and attentive, breakfast was great but our experience was already ruined by someone who doesn't know how to take care of clients such as us. My advice is to not avail their package, there's so many things they won't include, too many hidden charges and you won't be able to have options if you have a certain theme or idea for your wedding, look...
