So sad. Such a nice hotel and then the experience is so destroyed by bad food. They can barely make anything quite right, If the food for a change wasnt too bad something was missing. French fries are like soaked in piss-warm oil for 15 minutes, not fried at all. The pizza has the potential to break your teeth. And yes thats Pizza, it sounds impossible but this kitchen will teach you to expect the unexpected, even the simplest recipe they can ruin in unimaginable ways. Some simple filipino dishes are fine.
Rooms are very nice, service is ok, the hotel smell very good most places but the restaurant is on a much lower level. Good bath in our Suite, jacuzzi is ok, shower is great with plenty hot water. Housekeeping is acceptable, the jacuzzi was not cleaned daily but ok.
Beware of all food that can be reheated or microwaved, i dont dare order a pasta here out of fear that they will pull a “Greenwich”, ie microwaved pasta that will make you cringe. Their soup felt like it had been reheated daily since the days of the Spaniard rule.
Also you cant sign for resto/bar bills to the room so 3 stars from me is a stretch but i had a 40% discount on the room rate and dont feel like i was...
Read moreI was going to stay just one night but had to stay three! The Savanna Hotel just opened a few months ago and the staff keep it looking as if it opened yesterday. Absolutely amazing interior decorating (ok, so maybe the tasteful paintings of scantily clad women may have influenced that statement) seriously though, very well put together and extremely modern. The electronic keycard to get into the room automatically turns on your lights, etc. I stayed in a Junior Suite which was very spacious and included a two person Jacuzzi with a disco type light illuminating the water.
The restaurant and bar area as well as the pool was open 24 hours, recommend their breakfast also had the steak which was great. The entire staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make me feel at home. One great amenity was their free shuttle which they offered up for use each time I went out (although I had them flag down a
Although I could hear some of the street noise there really isnt anything bad to say about the place. I intend on going back in a few weeks and will sacrifice the 5 minute ride to get into the action just to stay...
Read moreI stopped coming to Angeles a few years back because of the poor maintenance of hotels and the terrible quality of food. Someone recently told me about this place and I had to try it, and glad that I did.||||The rooms are big and clean with well maintained AC, the internet is brilliant (better then hotels back home even), the showers have near instant hot water! They don't allow delivery drivers to bring food to your room which is annoying, but their own room service food is really good anyway. ||||The only qualm I have is that the waiting staff are not really friendly, not sure if that is because they don't get paid enough, or they don't like dark skinned people (common in Angeles). The cleaning staff are nice though.||||Yes it's a bit far from walking street however just book a grab for 120p and you're there in 5-8min depending on traffic. Worth the distance.||||Anyway if you can look past the unfriendly staff this is an awesome find and allows me to continue coming back to Angeles. Highly recommend. Make sure you get into the new building/wing...
