I came here for my 35th birthday and couldn't have chosen a better place.
The location is perfect for seekers of solitude. The house stands on a hill -- the subdivision is called "Eastridge" for a reason -- and it's nestled in a sea of other hills and trees. There are several restaurants within walking distance, but the house is set apart far enough that you can go stargazing on the roofdeck without a sea of nearby lights blinding you. It's peaceful and quiet as well, with an added bonus of birdsong in the mornings.
The house itself is beautiful, with so many "Instagrammable" spots. I got lucky and happened to come at a time when no one else was checked in, so it felt like I had this magical house all to myself. The lovely host Elena gave me an upgrade and the room was perfect. Not only was it spotlessly clean and comfortable (the sheets were so soft), it also smelled amazing! There were fresh flowers on the side table and a scented candle in the bathroom. I also got a cup of hot water for coffee in the morning, delivered to me by the kind and attentive Ate Cheryl.
Elena was so warm and welcoming. She and her husband Henry were full of tips and advice on things to do around the area. They even gave me a ride when I happened to be going down to town at the same time they were.
All in all, I had an unforgettable experience. I'm really conflicted about sharing this review because I want to keep this hidden gem a secret!
Perfect for: Solo travelers who enjoy tranquility and a touch of whimsy. The house, true to its name, has "castle" vibes. Lots of nice selfie spots. Couples who want a romantic getaway. You can watch the sunrise and sunset on the roofdeck, or go stargazing there after a dinner at Escalera or Art Sector. (There's still a bit of light pollution, but I spotted some constellations I wouldn't normally see in the city.)
Cons: Gets a little warm at noon.
Tips: There are several restaurants within walking distance, and they all have astonishing views of the sunset and the city at night. If you need groceries and extra toiletries, stock up before checking in. Google Maps won't tell you this, but there's a steep climb when driving up to this location from the town proper and you won't want to go up and down. Would be best if you have a four-wheel drive. But if you're a solo traveler commuting like me, the tricycles waiting outside of SM can take you up. They charged me P250, which I think is pretty reasonable given how hard their motors worked. It's easy to get a Grab driver here as well, but I had to tip them a bit because they were inconvenienced by the drive up on the way...

The host and staff were very accommodating. Power was out in the entire village (got restored sooner than expected!)when we got there, and Ms. Elena - the host - was kind enough to offer us complementary drinks. She showed us our room and briefed us on the policies.
The room we got was a queen room. It was clean, relaxing, and just perfect. The entire B&B was squeaky clean and everything smells good! There was a balcony on the floor where our room was, and another one kind of like a roof deck. The experience was like a home away from home. Not to mention, the price was VERY reasonable. We only paid around 2k php (check in from 1pm to 10pm, check out at 7am to 11am). Keys are given for the room itself and the main door, so you can go in and out whenever you need without hassle.
We were also provided towels and a guest kit, bedroom slippers, coffee and mugs, and menu for the breakfast. The room was also complete with a cabinet and hangers. The bathroom was nice and clean. They have water heater, too. Drinking water is provided on a dispenser just outside the rooms, with disposable cups. They also have available snack/chips you could purchase. The breakfast menu (not included in the booking), includes Filipino and Continental breakfast.
The place itself is around 10 minutes away from the town proper, but it was quiet and serene. If you have your own vehicle, it's quite easy moving around. There are a lot of nearby restaurants and activities you could enjoy. The petroglyph site as well as the shooting range were nearby. If you go downtown, you'll also see the lakeside eco park. It's also near SM Angono. Pretty convenient, actually. There are also cafes near the B&B. The closest is the D'Altitude Café, which is a walking distance.
Some pointers: they will ask for a safety deposit (2,000php), which you'll get back upon check out, granted that you leave the room without damages
they have wifi, so no need to worry if you need to check in on work or something.
they have guest kits (2 toothbrush, 2 mini soaps, 2 mini toothpaste, and 1 shampoo + conditioner - just like in any other hotels), but i would prefer to bring my own toiletries just because (thick hair, needs more shampoo lol).
Needless to say, our stay, although short, was very comfortable and pleasant. A big thank you to our hosts for being so kind and accommodating! Will surely come back and try other activities...
Read moreFound this BNB randomly at Google Maps and Bookingdotcom. I never regret one bit! It was soooo near the famous Cafes and every cafe we visited has great views overlooking the Bay (I recommend Art Sector for them artists and Kabesera Cafe if you want less people as they are probably new) food and drinks were pricey but I understood that we pay for the view and ambiance. If we would like to eat thrifty, we have to go drive down for 5 minutes to buy fastfood or other establishments (I recommend Kanto Freestyle Breakfast). The establishment allows takeouts too so it's a relief!
Going back to El Castillo, we took the Deluxe Room. They have complete vanity kit, slippers, 2 tissue rolls, coffee sticks and towels for bath. We didn't need to buy water as they have a water dispenser outside the door. We have instant access to their Balcony but we werent able to use it as it's raining at that time. They also have this laminated paper that serves as their breakfast menu and travel guides to where we can tour at Angono. Very helpful as me and my girlfriend just shotgunned our long weekend so we only have half a clue on what to do there. It's cozy inside El Castillo and every angle inside and outside the house is IG worthy.
The only two things I would like to address was the Shower heater doesn't work. But I think it's my fault for not asking them to fix it. Lastly, the curtains at the front window were too thin so mornings can be too bright.
Other than that, really really beautiful place! Apologies as I forgot to take a picture of the whole room and bathroom, but their provided pictures are exactly what you'll get for the price which is worth every penny!
Kudos to Ms. Sheryl and Mam Elena for the warm and comfortable accommodation...
