Michael's Native Homestay is a unique place. Michał and his family are very hospitable people. We felt at home with them. Michał talks very interestingly about the Philippines and his life adventures. He helped us to see and understand what real life is like on a Filipino island. We also had the opportunity to visit a local school with Michał, which was a very moving event to us. Michael's Native Homestay is located in a village with access to a local shop where you can stock up on basic products. Michał has new scooters available, which we used, thanks to which we could easily move around the entire island. The cottages are clean, spacious and comfortable. Hot water in the shower (not standard in the Philippines). Our house was equipped with both air conditioning and a fan which was a great convenience. In front of the house there is a spacious terrace with a seating area and a comfortable hammock. The cottages are located in a charming garden. There is access to the kitchen on the premises. You can also order meals. We ordered breakfast every day. They were very good. You can also order fresh coconuts from Michał, which we loved. The available Wi-Fi network was strong, so if someone needs to use it, for example to work online, it will definitely be an additional advantage. Our stay at Michael's Native Homestay was very interesting and successful. Greetings to the...

A Home Away from Home – Amazing Stay at Michael’s Native Homestay

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Michael's Native Homestay in Bantayan, Philippines, and I can honestly say it was one of the best travel experiences I've ever had. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and kindness, making me feel like part of the family rather than just a guest. Michael and his family go above and beyond to create a homey and relaxed atmosphere, always ready to share local tips and stories. What really sets this place apart is the family-like connection you develop during your stay. Whether it’s sharing a meal together, chatting in the evening, or simply enjoying the warm smiles of the hosts, you feel completely at home. The accommodation itself is cozy, clean, and built in a charming traditional native style, blending perfectly with the island’s laid-back vibe. The location is peaceful, yet conveniently close enough to explore the beautiful beaches and local attractions. If you’re looking for an authentic, welcoming, and truly unforgettable stay in Bantayan, Michael’s Native Homestay is the perfect choice. I can’t recommend it enough and will...

The time has come to give a review :) I stayed at Michael's 2 weeks in July 22.

Rooms are spacious and clean with a bathroom, good wifi and an optional AC. I was able to work remotely from there having online video meetings without any issues.

Beautiful surroundings with a nice garden to relax and chill next to a local village. Local people are very friendly and helpful, running small shops around.

10 mins walk to the beach and 10 min on a scooter to most beautiful beaches on Bantayan and to vivid restaurants of Santa Fe. You will have also an option to cook in the Homestay for yourself with kitchen amenities available.

Some special activities can be discussed with Michael during your stay as he is also a local tour guide.

If you want to be sure you are taken care of properly in Philippines by someone who understands your needs and ensures your safety, staying the same time as close as possible to the beautiful nature and local people, I would totally recommend this place. But be careful - if you plan to stay there for a short time, you will not...

I think there are no words to express how awesome this place is. At first a bunch of practical information - Michael's place is located in the middle of a small Filipino village. Beach is just around the corner, and a tourist "hub" with restaurants, groceries, and a ferry station just 5 minutes away by motorbike. Rooms are native-style, but comfortable. Michael, who is a great host and tourist guide, together with his wife Den Den create a place full of positive energy and unforgettable atmosphere, all spiced with a local Filipino flavor. There's all you need to spend perfect holidays - white sand beaches, the island ready to explore, nice parties nearby, interaction with local community, and open, friendly people. I highly recommend it!

Very lovely place to stay if you want to get in touch with authentic filipino culture. Michael gave us a very nice welcome and showed us the village and nearby beach. He is a polish guy living here with his family. Very few tourists here and a nice place to relax. Michael has a very cheap scooter for rent and has also a boat for Island hopping. No party tourism here and only nice people. Santa Fe is only few kilometers away if you want some bars and restaurants. We can really recommend this place. Look for him at AirBnB. We even extended our stay.
