Do not book this hotel......room size horribly deceiving in pictures - I booked the deluxe. No elevator, so up 3 flights of stairs to a very small room for 2 adults and a 1yr old. Immediately asked for a larger room and was told that upgrade fee applied, ok fine. ||This room size was much larger, but still only double or maybe a queen size bed with tons of space for larger. No other furniture - no end table or lamp. With the exception of a round table and 2 chairs. Smaller sized TV hung on wall with fuzzy reception and lines crossing picture. There was a built in for hanging clothes and no sign of a fridge in the room.||Bathroom was small and no hot water in sink or shower. Door lock control system does not work, so although there is a swipe card reader you use a key. No master keys available so surrender your key so people can clean when leaving. ||The lobby and main reception area was not well kept and the door and surrounding area leading to in the middle of the foyer was filthy. Restaurant not operating, so no food available unless you bring something in that requires no refrigeration.||We paid for 2 nights, yet found alternate accommodations at another hotel for our second night after a dreadful first night. On top of everything else the AC was not operating at full potential.||I know we were in the province, so I expected a little less comfort, however this was totally not what I expected. ||Looked for an upside and the only one is the staff were very pleasant and trying to accommodate where ever possible. ||This is one of only 2 hotels in the area and the only one online, so be careful when booking. The other hotel we booked was right next door and offered much nicer accommodation and was much more westernized. Newer room with king bed and better appointed. Including inverter AC and small refrigerator in our room. Price was also very comparable to...
Read moreWe booked at the last minute because we first checked into the Benjamin Hotel. The Benjamin was completely unlivable so we immediately checked out and inquired about the nicest hotel in Naval. We were told Frogotch was the place. We and checked in. It looked promising as the entry looked clean and updated. We asked for their best room and were told that was the executive sweet. We booked for the rest of our planned stay. We went to the room and quickly realized the living conditions were not much better than the Benjamin. No hot water, only a twin bed, not big enough for my wife and I, but we made it work. Every time one of us moved, we’d nearly bump the other one off the bed. The room is tiny, not even enough room to unpack our bags.
Some sort of insects were all over the bathroom floor. When I moved the bucket that was located in the shower, a lizard was there. I hate lizards!!!.
No elevator and room was on third floor. Are at the restaurant one morning and got sick.
We would have left earlier than we did, but the wife’s brother was getting married and we were there for the wedding. We did shorten our stay by two days, we left right after the wedding.
Naval its self is a dump and it appears the standard of living is very low. Unless you are into roughing it, I don’t recommend a stay at this hotel or any other...
Read moreFragoch Tourist Inn located just a kilometer away from the main busy streets of the Naval Town Proper. My stay here is just okay. Like I mean, just okay. The price here is somewhat not worthy of the value it can give you. Service Time to your meal is quite long, there food is not that good but okay, their "Tablea" Drink or Hot Choco Drink using the local Cacao is not that Pure or not that good quality, and then their is not so much you that you can do in their place than to sleep or rest. Though, if you are looking for a place to stay outside the Busy streets, or if you wanted to do some underground stuff where you don't want many people see you going inside the hotel with your car or motorcycle, then this is the best place for you to go into. During night, the street here is so quite, dark, that almost nobody will even see you get inside aside from the guard on duty. And th good thing also in this Hotel/Inn is if you wanted to go early to Tacloban City or Ormoc City the next day, Van-vans Public Utility Vehicle with HiAce Vans are available parking in the nearby street / gasoline station...
