So this review basically focuses on the compassion of the Loboc River Resort and their staff. We arrived and were shown to a beautiful clean room that was spacious. The bed was a true kingsize, the water pressure was adequate and the hot water was there on demand. They have a flat screen TV in the bedroom and cable channels that work. That said, I need to be honest with you since your looking at reviews to see if you want to stay here. The Internet service is pretty much nonexistent and the cellular in this area is slim at best, so if you require internet or cellular services while enjoying your stay here this resort & any other resorts in this area will be problematic for you.
The great news about this place is it clean, well run with experienced service willing to help you with anything to make your stay memorable. After the first night my wife had a bad infection (that had nothing to do with this resort or the Philippines as a whole) and we needed to evacuate immediately and get her to Bangkok hospital. The resort was there for us and made all the arrangements to immediately get us off the Island of Bohol by fast ferry to Cebu, transportation from the Cebu ferry port to Cebu International airport, tickets from Cebu to Manila airport and tickets from Manila airport to Bangkok airport. We left the resort about 9:30am and by 2am in the morning we were in our hotel in Bangkok with an appointment at 9:30am the next morning with an infection specialist. If it wasn't for our decision to leave immediately and the overwhelming help of the resort staff to make this all happen my wife would have probably gotten sepsis running throughout her body and as your all aware of that can be a death sentence Special thanks to Jazz and Jeziel and the concierge desk for taking ownership of this emergency and getting us the service needed to address the problem. We hope to come back and finish our vacation with you in...
Read morePros : The staff here were absolutely amazing, some of the kindest people we’ve ever met at any accommodation. Their respect and attention to guests are on another level and they impressively remember everyone’s name! The food at the restaurant was fantastic and the Earth Hour dinner was unexpectedly beautiful. We had so much fun!
Unfortunately, it rained almost every day, so we couldn’t fully enjoy the pool and the activities, but the resort itself is stunning. We did manage to see the fireflies at least which is a must. You could easily spend a week here without getting bored. Breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety of options, though I would have preferred fewer main dishes and more choices like granola and oats. The Wi-Fi compared to other accommodations we had before was pretty decent.
Cons: Here’s what I didn’t like about this place:
The hot water kept coming and going, so one moment you’re enjoying a warm shower and the next it’s freezing cold. Although the room had stunning river views, it felt a bit outdated. Everything was made of wood, including the bed, which wasn’t comfortable and made a lot of noise. The shower was quite small and when it rained, the long walk to the reception meant you could easily get soaked, although they did provide free umbrellas. On our last day (Sunday), we couldn’t enjoy the resort at all because the house in front of our room blasted loud music from early morning until 9pm, driving us crazy. We had to leave and eat elsewhere to escape the noise. Despite informing reception, they said they couldn’t do anything until 10pm, and we weren’t the only ones complaining. Also expect to be waking up every day at 5am by the roosters so if you are a light sleeper, take this into consideration, but this is practically everywhere in the...
Read moreMy cousin and I stayed at Loboc River Resort for 6 days to visit a friend in Bohol. It was a change from the resorts by the beach. Loboc River was peaceful and quiet and was surrounded by nature. Each room was in a cottage instead of in a large building. To get to the cottages there are boardwalks to pass through. The room was big, beautiful and came with a patio to nature. AC and hot water are included. There was a television, a vault and comfortable beds. Outside there were 2 swimming pool areas. One night was high-tide and it was extremely exciting to walk on the boardwalks with water running underneath.
What I enjoyed a lot was the hotel restaurant. It sat by the river and had an elegant and very peaceful atmosphere. We always felt very happy after every meal. They have a great chef. The chefs prepared oragami made of vegetables for us every meal. I always invited our visitors in Bohol to eat with us here and it was a huge plus to not have to stress about what restaurant to go to. The prices were good. Breakfast is free and always filled us up.
The hotel had a lot of activities for guests from watching wild monkeys get fed, firefly watching, massages to paddle boarding and kayaking. One of the things we tried was the paddle boarding and we all had so much fun. We jumped off and swam in Loboc River which was an experience and also dived off a tree. The resort was large and had areas to walk around and explore. Places for meditation and fishes to see.
The staff were extremely friendly and it felt that they took pride in their resort. To me the resort is a jewel in the community. I would want...
