This small resort is located on hilly grounds with stunning views.
To reach the villa’s there are several stairs with irregular steps without a railing. This can be a problem for less mobile guests . It’s a nice place but I had higher expectations. Everything needs a bit more love, tender and care . The “villa’s are spacious but basic. There is no TV, no wifi, no kettle and coffee, no phone to call the reception, no fridge, no hairdryer ,no toiletries, no bidet, except soap and shampoo. Not what you expect from a resort like this. I recommend the owner/ management to make some improvements.
The whole resort needs a bit more maintenance and a fresh layer of paint . Also the garden areas needs some more love and attention. Dead huge palm leaves are just laying next to the walking path.
Although smoking is allowed there are no as trays and also no trash bins in the outside areas and the villa terraces .😕
The staff is very friendly and the food in the restaurant is really good.😃
There is a nice pool all the way down next to the bay.😀 The pool only has 5 pool beds without any parasols. 🙁 There is no staff or phone , so you need to climb up to the restaurant to order drinks .😕
Because the location and the staff is so nice I still recommend this place for 2 or...
Read moreI cannot recommend Marina Del Sol enough! Gorgeous Villas with incredible views. Yes there are ants and lizards inside the room, which is expected for a remote tropical place. Peaceful and relaxing. The staff checked in with me daily and I booked all my activities through them. Even helped to accommodate my vegetarian diet at the restaurant. Service is slower here compared to what I'm used to in the states, but it was not bad service. After a few days, Raffye the server brought me my usual coffee order without even asking :)
They provide an experiences menu to choose from, which I loved! Scooter, Kayak, Island Hopping in Busuanga and Coron Island Tour were the ones I did. As a solo traveler the resort helped me to book others on my boat.
If you do any of the boat tours on Banca (the traditional Filipino Boat), I highly recommend requesting the boat Angela with Noel and Wilson. They were the BEST guides to the point where I made sure I had them on my second boat tour.
Note to Digital Workers & Nomads - No WIFI service in rooms. Only in restaurant, which was not great. I had good cell reception and was able to use my own data plan on my phone for working. So come prepared if this is you!
Overall, really lovely stay at Marina Del Sol and would...
Read moreGreat views and calm but bad service (eg forgetting to clean room, delays, mistakes in bills and orders, dirty tables of previous guests not cleaned for hours despite multiple requests, some staff showing frustration when we ordered or asked to have our drink/food at pool (ie not outside their kitchen/bar), full of ants and spiders (huge hairy) including in bed and toilet. One morning we woke up to a killed spider blood on our feet - we expressly asked staff to change the sheet and they didn't. Hotel has amazing potential but it needs maintenance and upgrade to ensure insects In bed are limited.||Also Too far from Coron town so none of the tours providers collects from here, and hotel s van service to town was too expensive (81 euros approxim. return) ; also hotel s tours offer was overpriced (3 times at least the town tours). Also there was miscommunication with what exactly the tour would cover (ie re prices and locations agreed).||We ended up leaving earlier as this was for our honeymoon and the experience was quite bad. For very similar price we booked a great hotel in Coron town, with amazing service and views, and got to do cheaper tours too! || Overall NOT...
