Stayed between 1st and 8th January 2025||Right from the first communications with Peter, right through the booking process, airport transfer and check-in process, our stay was a seamless, hassle free experience.||The room was amazing, with a million dollar view across Pearl Bay to the islands beyond. Sunsets were particularly amazing both from our room and the restaurant bar. Our room was serviced daily and not just a quick bed making, but the friendly and accommodating housekeeping team cleaned the entire bathroom area, including wiping down the walls in the shower. The room was kept spotless throughout our entire stay.||The Resto/bar was a great friendly place to meet locals, other travellers and guests and enjoy the supplied board games. The staff were amazing and did everything they could to ensure our dining experiences were memorable and accommodating to special dietary requests. Often in resorts where accessibility to other dining venues is limited, it’s easy to feel “trapped” into the same old menu. However, Ate Tess and Mike’s culinary skills with the daily fresh seafood were beyond compare. I’ve seen it written that you don’t visit the Philippines for the food, but you definitely must visit Pearl Bay Villas for the food. ||The tours were another well organised feature. As we had requested a different island visit from the normal tours, following contacting with various other tour/dive/accommodation businesses prior to our arrival, Peter was the only who was more than accommodating in helping with our request. Everything from arranging the Bangka boat, a packed lunch and prearranging access to the island were taken care of with the utmost efficiency.||The pool area was a great spot for a quick dip, or a lazy sunbaking. It was kept spotlessly clean with daily maintenance by Kuya Romeo. With supplied beach towels a trip to the pool was a great way to relax in the afternoons.||The massage was one of the better massages we have experienced in the Philippines.||The cons would only be for those who have mobility issues. Although we didn’t have issues, the resort is built on a hillside with multiple stairways, so those who have trouble negotiating stairs may find it a challenge. ||Overall Pearl Bay Villas was one of the most amazing experiences we have enjoyed in the Philippines. Being “Off Grid” but maintaining all the facilities one would expect, while being separated from the noise and bustle of life in the Philippines, Pearl Bay Villas offered an incomparable serenity to relax and rejuvenate one’s body and mind. Although it’s not a high end price tag, it offers all the comforts, ambiance and dining experiences of a high end resort. It’s not a low end priced resort, but has all the personal one on one attention that you would expect from a small establishment. Thank you Peter, Ate Tess, Ate Jess, Mike and all of the staff for a wonderful experience. If there’s anywhere we’re determined to revisit, it is most definitely...

Read moreWe recently booked our family vacation to this place that is very deceiving. Beautiful location with NO stable electricity and water supply. Our day of arrival, not even 2 hours being there, as it is being a hot day in Palawan and an early flight from Manila. It’s but natural to put the fan and air conditioner on, as wanted to refresh from the trip. We wanted to shower and use bathrooms but unable to do so. Unbeknownst to us, this place was run by generators. As the owner Jen notified us, and told us that the generators are not capable to accommodate all the resorts needs to make the place fully functional, therefore we need to not put the air conditioner, fan, other appliances and water on at the same time. Also, the owner was controlling the use of power and electricity by putting it on and off whenever they want to. Really??? Just to remind you, there are 10 of us in my family that traveled and made a reservation on this trip. She asked us to put off all the fan and air conditioner and have us take a shower one at a time to accommodate the incapabilities of the resorts generator! Mind you, we were the only guest that day and imagine if there were more guests to tend to? We would have to keep asking and waiting for them to finish to shower or find out when they need to shower because one can be in the middle of showering then all of a sudden the power goes out, then you’re still with soap and need water to rinse out but that goes out too! Fortunately, we have occupied 2 rooms and are all related that we can communicate with one another to take a shower when one person is done showering. How horrible!!! The place is so dark and unsafe. Wow!!! What a horrible place to go on vacation!!! We tried to think positive, and that we can do this everyday and we have gone through worst things in life. But this is a family vacation! A family reuniting after 15+ years. Then we proceed to talk to the owners (Jen and Peter), they tried to work things out by offering wine and giving free breakfast the following day. But the thought of not having any resolved to these problems and a vacation that’s already wasted and ruined on the first day made us all decide that this place is NOT worth anything even if it is located in such a place. Since we were only there for 5 days we decided to leave this horrible place and went to another hotel. When we asked for refund on the days not used, Peter said he will refund those days but in rethinking it, he decided to go through the Airbnb to have it refunded. After everything has been said and done Peter REFUSED to refund the money as promised because our review of his place has been negative therefore he was planning to refund the money in hopes that we do not give a negative rating. So beware of this corrupt business owners. They have not been honest and transparent to the guests and their only concern is...
