My experience at this resort's restaurant left much to be desired, particularly in terms of customer service. Considering its higher price point, I anticipated at least a basic level of attentiveness. However, during our lunch visit, I encountered several disappointing aspects:

Upon approaching the counter to place our order, the staff member in charge failed to acknowledge us. Although she seemed preoccupied, a simple acknowledgment or indication of when she would be available would have sufficed. Instead, we were left standing, unsure of what to do.

Despite the sweltering heat, we were not offered water while waiting for our orders. This oversight is basic in any restaurant, especially in a location adjacent to the beach.

Despite being informed that our orders would be ready in 30 minutes, it took an hour for them to arrive. I was able to confirm this delay by referring to the timestamps on the photos I had taken upon arrival.

4.I ordered the "Spaghetti Aglio Olio," but instead received spaghetti with marinara sauce and shrimp. When I attempted to explain the discrepancy and clarify that Aglio Olio is typically just pasta cooked in garlic and olive oil, the staff member's response was dismissive and bordered on rudeness. They simply remarked, "oh really, good thing that you know what that means," in Bisaya, before walking away. This lack of professionalism was disheartening.

The quality of the food and customer service did not justify its high price. In hindsight, dining at a nearby local eatery would have likely been a more satisfying and economical choice.

The only positive thing I can say about the place is the beautiful ambiance...

The resort, nestled in a private and tranquil setting, is a haven for those seeking a peaceful escape and enjoying the refreshing sea breeze. However, my experience was marred by a few notable drawbacks in their services. Notably, the absence of basic amenities such as shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, and conditioner was surprising. This lack of initiative and proactiveness to provide these essentials was a notable inconvenience.

Despite a generally friendly staff, there seemed to be a gap in proactivity. For instance, simple offerings like ice, juice, and Milo were not readily available, requiring specific requests. The pricing also felt a bit steep compared to similar alternatives. Moreover, the beautiful view was somewhat offset by the inconvenience of a distant parking area, necessitating the hauling of our belongings from the drop-off point to the resort.

While the potential for a wonderful experience is evident, addressing these lapses in service and showing more proactiveness in anticipating guest needs would undoubtedly elevate the overall guest...

Marika Resort’s staff are so friendly and kind. This place is perfect for family and friends. They’re also pet-friendly! (₱500 per pet)

Their food was good and you can cook/grill right beside the stair entrance. The location is hard to find at first, they don’t have a clear signage near the road (they do but it’s so tiny to see).

Beach - clean, no jellyfish but lots of sea urchins (no coral reefs nearby) white sand šŸ˜

Internet - slow (we hope they could improve it next time) Globe and Smart signal is strong near the beach: dead-spot in rooms

Pool - lubog (we hope they could improve their filters)

Room - we had the Sidlakan 1 (good for 6-8) persons, the bathroom was not that clean, the drainage from the other shower room was clogged and overflows to the whole bathroom. Ants and spider every corner 😩

Thank you, Marika. We hope in the future you could improve your...
