It's almost like a mini zoo, they have cute doggos, birds, rabbits, one preggo kitty and guinea pigs. I like how they have a pond with a lot of fishes although I think it's a bit overcrowded because the fishes are getting big, then there's the cute decorations like the dwarves/gnomes, & swans. The lights at night are so good. It's like a fairytale garden. Also the decorations weren't just randomly put there, I think some thoughts were put into it. It was very clean and not a piece of trash in site. The showers are very modern, you get hot water if you want it.
The hut that we got originally was without a/c and we got it upgraded with the a/c one. The huts are cute, we got the balcony hut thing. If you want to spend a lil bit more get the one with the balcony. It's very relaxing.
I would say this is a very Eco-friendly place. It's very nature-like & a lil bit outside but close to white beach. They have shared bathrooms, if you don't like it, then don't book it.
It's definitely good for couples, & backpackers/good for groups because it's good value of money. They also have empty huts where friends can hang out, drink/eat together.
Scooter rental is cheap & it was okay. I get the strictness with time & rules. It's peaceful if you just follow it.
I don't get how other reviews are bad, "money grab place" Ofc it is, It's a business, and they didn't force you to book anything or any extras.
It's best value. We paid for early check-in and it was just 150 pesos. Coming from a person who books a lot, this is very cheap & decent value for money.
I think what I enjoyed the most were the swings & hammock. Wait, actually I think it's the dogs, they always come running towards us & they were so sweet. Big stress reliever.
If you're not a fan of seeing animals, this isn't for you guys.
Obviously with the hot summer heat, being in a hut isn't much of a good choice especially the ones with no ac. But overall it was a...
Read moreAn honest review.
Many cute animals all around, nice lighting and generally friendly staff. It was clean. Toilets/showers were clean. Well kept garden with banana, papaya and jackfruit all growing naturally. The staff were overall nice.
Although there were a couple of things that were a bit questionable.
We are both tall people and despite the bigger tents being free they gave us the smallest one. We couldnt stand up, no table, literally a mattress and fan. It was only when we extended we were moved into the bigger one and thought why hadnt they given us this in the first place? They are the same price so i am a bit dumbfounded why they did that. We only extended because it was simply convenient and leaving a day later. Youre quite far from everything.
We were asked everyday atleast twice what we were planning to do with the intent that they can arrange it all. We booked elsewhere simply because it was cheaper. They have their own made up prices for day trips it seems.
Wifi didnt exist. Luckily we had a local Sim but its probably the first place we have stayed with no easily accessible wifi.
We rented a scooter and they charged us more to bring it back at 8pm. When we had originally rented it at 7:30 pm a few days earlier. Every opportunity to earn seems to be taken.
You have to pay for warm water. The worst part was it was empty and we had no water from 9pm until 9am the next morning.
At the end of our stay we had booked a taxi with them to go catch the bus towards Siquijor. 10 minutes before we were supposed to go they said they couldnt do it because the staff who drives it got drunk and was still in bed... that was pretty inconvenient and made us miss our planned bus. But atleast they were honest and truthfull.
Overall there are definitely positives to this place but...
Read morePros - Really cute little bamboo bungalows in good condition with nicely maintained yard and gardens. Close to White Beach.||Cons - When we arrived we were told we had to park our rental scooter on the narrow dark street overnight despite there being plenty of room inside the yard. I wasn't allowed take a food menu a short distance to my room to show my wife (so we decided not to eat there). The room was very small and basic (that's OK - we like that) but the beds were two separate beds that couldn't be moved together (screwed to the floor). Then I had the worst night sleep of my life. I've stayed in plenty of bamboo bungalows in villages with dogs and roosters but this was next level extreme noise. What sounded like dozens of mega-roosters right outside our room crowing non-stop, constantly, the entire night. A valium and ear-plugs did not help. I woke up absolutely tired and exhausted (which ruined my day). I spoke with the staff nicely and explained that I could not sleep there another night (we were booked for 2 nights) and asked if we could cancel and refund the 2nd night but were told 'no. It is not policy.' I pointed out that it was not my fault and it was that of the hotel but they would not budge. There was no way I could go through that hell for another night so we checked out and asked for a small partial refund as a gesture of good will but the answer was 'no'. These people could use a course in customer relations. I had to forfeit my 1350 pesos for the second night as well as find another room at short notice which cost me 1500 pesos. Unfriendly, inflexible, money-hungry and the worst sleep of my...
