We checked in beautiful location but on booking.com it says our charge should have been 13,307.67 pesos which comes up to $338.86 Australian dollars. But when we checked out the lady at reception told my husband that when paying by card it’s a 30% surcharge 😳 checking our receipt for 29,430.23 pesos which is $764 Australian dollars which is $426 surcharge, breakfast isn’t included so all the extras added up, drinks included. We stayed for 2 nights and booked 2 rooms (with an extra bed in one of the rooms). The hotel for our next booking Cebu city was a lot less so beware of your additional cost. They say paying by cash is better.
no pool towels but they’re happy for you to use the room towels and they’re ok for you to ask for more - only thing the towels were damp each time we ask for them.
Room 1 may have bathroom plumbing issues but we endured the odour so we can still be across from our kids who were booked there.
You can hear conversations in the room next door but no need to complain because we’re always out.
We brought food outside and put it in the fridge the night before and couldn’t eat it the next day because the ants got to it before us. Fridge does not close properly and cool properly as well. You have to plug in the fridge when you get there.
They do provide laundry service which is a plus and yes extra cost as well but not all hotels provide this service so this was great.
The hotel is situated on the main road so catching a trike/ride to places wasn’t an issue.
They always have someone outside minding the front door at night to prevent any outsiders from coming in. He didn’t carry a gun but security is...
Read moreThis property is conveniently located off Toledo. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. But the road is very close and in the morning the traffic is very noisy. The reception staff speaks English and welcomes you with courtesy and kindness as well as the manager. There is a small shop with reasonable prices and it is also possible to buy some toiletries. The pool is clean, the whole of this hotel is well maintained. The restaurant and bar are by the pool, the place is very nice. The food is good quality but horribly spicy, so put your conditions when ordering if you can not stand to have the mouth on fire. The room service staff is really loathsome, completely indifferent to your requests, does not try to advise you or try to understand you because he does not speak English. If you have to dine a little late be attentive to the time because at 10 pm very precise the waitresses will leave and leave you alone without a word. The prices are too high for an establishment of this quality that should make a real effort to train its staff to more discipline and respect for the customer. This is still a good address anyway thanks to the kindness of the receptionist and managerqji can take the time to...
Read moreThe menu is quite good. The stake is imported and is exceptional from what the person sitting next to me told me. My wife did not fancy the pancit due to finding it salty but they did promptly offer to remake it for her. The food did take a very long time, but in fairness, there was another order put in at the same time. Ours was put in, and there is only one cook. My fish came out amazingly good.
Here is my only major complaint. The kitchen is exposed with a window to the dining area right next to the pool. There is only the one chef, and I guess he was having a lazy day because it was a mess in that kitchen when I went over to peek in.
From the way the staff acted, the owner is pretty strict and very particular. They seemed overly concerned with us being satisfied with everything. To me, that means the owner really cares. However, there is a business card in the front lobby with the owner's phone number. I message that number and got the staff responding.
I wanted to address this with the owner himself being a businessman myself. However, as I feared, there is no way to communicate directly to him without staff...
