Unfortunately I have to disagree with the other posters in regard to the quality of the rooms. I will agree that the staff was ver kind and welcoming. No issues with the staff.
The room I booked was the highest level unless I am mistaken but I have to say I was disappointed to find the conditions akin to tenement housing in a slum.
I am including a photo (first image) from the Agoda booking site along with the pictures of the actual room. You can decide if I have a right to be disappointed.
It should be noted that Agoda was contacted about this location and they failed to offer any solution and will continue to allow the location to misrepresent the room conditions. 🤷♂️
I have read your response. I will disagree on your evaluation of the room but it is your facility so you have to be protective of your reputation. There are clearly mold infestations in the corners of the walls where water has been allowed to accumulate and stay for some time. I am not going to add zoomed in pictures to make my point. Suffice it to say that the room in the advertisement photo and our room did not match. It is not due to lighting.
It is true we did not complain. With limited choices for accommodation we accepted what was available. It doesn’t mean that we would welcome future stays however. I did contact Agoda because I believe that your misrepresentation of the room warranted notification. Agoda forwarded your response for a change of room. I declined the offer and have made arrangements to stay in a different city on our return trip home.
I appreciate your response and your staff was very kind and welcoming. Unfortunately the room fell way below the industry standard...
Read moreWhile en route to Calaguas last summer, my bestfriend and I decided to stay the night at Hotel Formosa to explore the capital of Camarines Norte - Daet. We booked the the hotel upon the recommendation of a friend who had stayed there before.||||We arrived early at around 1pm but we understand that the check in time is 2pm, which is standard for all hotels. We were lucky enough to chance upon the owners of the property who were very welcoming. While waiting, they offered us a complimentary sandwich and premium options as a welcome drink - from a glass of wine, pineapple juice and a cup of Nespresso coffee. Being the coffee lovers that we are, we opted for the Nespresso.||||We then proceeded to our room (we booked the superior suite) which we were delighted to see was spacious, spot-on clean and had a balcony that allowed us to enjoy the view of lush greenery. Suffice to say, we had a good night's sleep. ||||The breakfast was also one of the highlights of our stay as I still think about the omelette we had to this day. ||||Overall, a remarkable stay and I highly recommend booking Hotel Formosa if you find yourselves in the quiant city of Daet. Read moreHotel Formosa is not a very nice hotel in Camarines Norte. I recommend you to stay in an another hotel instead of this one.
First, while checking-in in Hotel Formosa at night, my parents and the staff took a while to check-in because of the Superior Sweet Deluxe Room (that has 2 Queen-sized beds), but we almost got scammed because the staff asked more money because she recommeneded that we should get a mattress for someone else to LITTERALLY SLEEP ON THE GROUND.
Also, while changing my clothes in the bathroom, there was a sudden brownout. My mom thought it’s because it was raining, but it’s just because they don’t have a generator AT ALL.
Instead of a bidet, they gave us a tabo when we were about to leave for our 3rd day of wandering around Camarines Norte for taking a poop in the bathroom. Also, there’s no adjustment for the hot and cold temperatures in the bathroom, it’s just warm, and sometimes a little cold only.
Be careful, you might catch a cold, because our other relatives and my other siblings only got a small, thin blanket, but a loud and very cold air conditioner, so my brother got sick...
