I had a great stay at this guesthouse in Bucana, a charming village in El Nido, Palawan. The village is separated by a river with a hanging pedestrian bridge, and it’s more convenient to park your motorbike on the opposite side of the river as the road there is better.
The room was simple, equipped with a fan and no air conditioning. While the sound isolation wasn’t great, this is typical for accommodations of this kind, so it didn’t bother me. The guesthouse had reliable and fast Starlink Wi-Fi, which was a pleasant surprise. There was also a kitchen where the owner, Helen, prepared delicious meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Helen, the owner, is an incredibly kind and helpful woman. She gave me great advice on local attractions, helped arrange a boat trip from El Nido, and made my stay feel warm and welcoming. We even became friends during my time there!
The location is peaceful and calm, and the guesthouse is located right on the beachfront. While the water there wasn’t very clean, with a motorbike, you can easily explore nearby attractions: El Nido is 30 minutes away, Duli Beach (great for surfing) is 10 minutes away, and Teneguiban Pier, where you can take a boat to Daracotan Island for snorkeling, is just 35 minutes away. There are also other beaches, waterfalls and caves nearby to discover.
This guesthouse is perfect for solo travelers or couples who ride motorbikes, as tricycles in the area are quite expensive. I recommend renting a motorbike in Puerto Princesa (around 300 PHP/day for a two-week rental).
Overall, it’s a simple but cozy place with a peaceful atmosphere and a very accommodating host. Highly...
Read moreI stayed for almost a week at Femya Native House and I can truly say it was a wonderful and memorable experience. If you want to escape the busy and crowded downtown, Femya is the perfect place for you. 🤗 Aside from that, Ate Helen (the owner) is such a beautiful soul. We had such a great time together, it felt like we had known each other for a long time. She’s incredibly accommodating, and all her dishes are superb.🫶🏼 I miss her place, and I miss her too. I’ll definitely be coming back in the future. 🤍 PS: Since this is a native house and far from the city, expect some minor inconveniences at times but don’t worry, Ate Helen always has a...
