You all should know: There is no air conditioning There is no cupboard for your clothes The bathroom and toilet are outside and are shared between the 3 rooms - so, at night, you will go in the dark, in the open outside to go... The shower is basically a drip and not suitable for washing... there is a bucket with a bawl to wash... Toilet doesn't always have water in it, so if you went, it's going to stay dirty! The kitchen is in the open, dirty, and fresh water is not what you expect. You should bring your own! Rent a 4×4 car! This place is more than an hour drive from the nearest grocery store or restaurant! The reason for an all terrain vehicle is that there is a 14-kilometer drive in a thick jungle on a dirt road! It will wear you out! There is a backward, rundown, dirty store, with hardly anything a Westerner will want... two minutes walk from the shack (it's not a villa or a cottage, it's a wooden shack) Parking is charged - 50 pesos a day, and WI-FI (a must, as there is NO CELLULAR reception of any kind there) is 500 pesos a day.
Otherwise, it is a beautiful beach on a bay. See pictures. The two people working for you in the shack are Elderan, a 20-something boy who is helping with maintenance, etc., and Rhea, the woman I charge of reception, cooking, and laundry. They try their best to help. There are 2 kayaks which belong to the place you can use for free. I would say this is more like camping than anything else, so if you're not a fun of it,...
Read moreThe views absolutely incredible. The location perfect for people who want to taste a bit of actual life on Philippines. The actual cottage definitely not in its glory anymore needs some renovation. Doesn’t look like on pictures. The rooms have a bit of unwanted guests… ants in them. Not sure from where they came from. The water pressure is non existent but we had a bucket with water to wash which was okay for us. Beware that rooms get extremely hot but that is just the beauty of this place and definitely normal in summer! There are fans to use to cool down a bit. The water in taps not to be used for any cooking or drinking! You can buy water from host to cook with. Ice and internet you also have to pay extra. Ice comes in uncomfortable to separate plastic bags… look like logs of ice more and need to use a lot of force to cut/crush. Very hard road to get to the cottage. So be aware before if you are not a confident driver and you might get stuck in sand or on the rocks you have to drive through jungle. Overall beautiful place worth the views. Host is...
Read moreIf you are considering to visit this place I need to warn you. It's located 1,5 hour of dusty bumpy road drive from civilization. No driver will take you there nor will come to pick you up. Owner offer one way transfer from/to El Nido for 100 EUR (!!). You cannot buy any food around that place either. Owner offers to buy it for you but you need to order everything 3 days in advance. Although there are showers the water presure is so low that it's unusable. There is no internet signal/wifi (owner offers only expensive satelite internet connection at extra charge). All this could be still ok for someone, especially if you are looking for isolation, but the owner informed us about problematic roads and food arrangemwnts only after we payed for the reservarion (3 days in advance) and refused to return the money although we requested it just minutes after making the reservation - make your own opinion about that.. I hope I have saved a lot of money and nerves to a lot of people by sharing...
