Sotogrande Hotel Iloilo — Hotel in Iloilo City

We had a booking with Sotogrande, for my sister to have her photos for her overdue 18th celebration. She came all the way to PH from US to celebrate her 18th bday, but we really had a bad experience with Sotogrande. My older sister confirmed 3x if it is okay to have a photoshoot once we have a booking, but once we arrived in Sotogrande and had our pictures the guard told us to stop taking photos. If only we knew that it is not allowed then we will not book with them since that is our only purpose.

The shower was not good quality as well. Some part at the middle has water, some part on the other side. The distribution of water from the shower was not equal. Visitors are not allowed. With its restrictions, the hotel can't be enjoyed fully which means it is not a good deal.

The experience regarding photoshoot was so much different with Richmond hotel. Richmond just asked my sister to confirm the photoshoot at the lobby (not so much drama...

It's a budget friendly hotel that's quite far from the city's center. Located inside a subdivision, it feels like a private get away. They have a simple garden, a pool with slides, activity center, mini restaurant, and condominium.

There's ample parking lots. Guest are greeted by courteous employees.

Rooms are simple, not topnotch though. They have free wifi.

Comfort rooms / restrooms are a bit cramped. Our showerhead is broken. They do not provide soap but they have lotion, shampoo, and body wash. Their hot and cold system is broken.

TV and phone works fine.

They offer in house massage which we didnt try.

The best this place has to offer probably is the scenic man made lake with a lighthouse. I think the place is good for group activities with outdoors setting. As it is pretty far from the city's center, there's some privacy.

Restaurant breakfast food is affordable...

This hotel has nice rooms and calm area. Management on the other hand is terrible. Check in took over an hour - we were given the wrong room class twice before actually getting what we booked. Internet is not functional, concerns were addressed to hotel manager. We were told we would get a response within two hours - it's the next day and still no internet more solution. They offered free breakfast to apologise but they won't let us choose what to eat because it's "free" plus we can only consume it in our room. They don't seem to want to accept their mistakes either. Bottom line - don't book this hotel till management...
