I don't normally write a long and detailed review but I am very grateful to the owner and staff at this place which we stayed in for the past 2 nights.||It's a newly built hotel in the centre of San Miquel near the market where we could get coconut water fresh for 20 pesos each. ||Floors and walls are concrete and floors have porcelain tiles. Place is spotlessly clean.||We were asked what we would like for breakfast and told the standard menu. We said we would like oats and asked if they had brewed coffee. They showed us Nescafe instant coffee and we said we would get coffee outside. The next morning we were delighted to see that they had bought and brewed a jug of coffee in their new coffee machine and we had several cups, they had also bought oats with bananas. Very happy with their efforts to please us.||We asked for advice on getting a jeepney or tricycle to local beaches and I asked about renting a motorcycle. They offered us their own motorcycle for free. Very impressed but we decided to hire a tricycle to take us to Ramen beach resort and wait a few hours to take us back for 350 pesos.||The owner and staff seemed genuinely concerned for our comfort and well being which made us feel comfortable and relaxed. They offered to cook whatever we wanted for our evening meal but we had brought our own cooked food.||Quiet night as we were the only quests. 20 minutes from Port along a wide paved road with verdant vegetation a long the way. About 30 minutes to beaches but a pleasant scenic trip along a...
Read moreJM Backpackers Hometel is located along the national highway in San Miguel. It is within the commercial district of the town. That's why it is adjacent to ATMs, bank, Capitol, hospital, food terminal, market, restaurants, gasoline station, convenience store, etc. I inquired the room rates and Heart told me that there's a P1,200 aircon room with free breakfast and a P500 fan room, no free breakfast. I preferred the lower room rate because I'll stay only for a night and early morning of the next day I had to leave the Island going to Iloilo. I got a reservation first and proceeded to my land tour. I came back passed 6:00 P.M. and asked for my room accommodation. After I had paid, Heart assisted me to my room. I was surprised how big my room is, a single bed with headboard, a separate cubicle for toilet and bath, coffee table, flat TV and free wifi. The room and comfort room are so clean. The linen and towel are new and clean also. Unlimited drinking water and 3 in 1 coffee. All of that is only P500. At the first floor, there's a convenience and pasalubong store and Super Meal Box, a fast food restaurant, owned by Hometel too. Very cheap and affordable. I ate my breakfast here and the meal is delicious. I experienced also the kindness of the hotel owner. Thank you, all. Date of visit...
Read morePros: Clean room with table, chair, cabinet with hanger, mug with coffee sachets, slipper and 2 each pillow. Organize CR with bidet and hot and cold shower. Split type aircon. Wifi is ok. Grocery and pharmacy downstairs. Nearby eateries and canteens. Along highway. Near market and walking distance to capitol. Friendly and accomodating staff. Free cold and hot water (dispenser at the hallway).
Cons: No elevator, you have to carry all your luggages upstairs. No dim light, the room is totally dark when you turn off lights. Not a budget friendly hotel but value for money; 1500 overnight for 2, Room 310.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Thank you for the safe and memorable...
