The good: Friendly staff and cooperative Proper designated area for smoking. Very nice looking from outside.
Great view from the 4th floor. Some green landscape and trees, away from the street Generous lobby Blind curtains. Comfortable beds. 3 Electricity outlets in a room Clean toilet
Very good food.
The bad: No standards: Old and damaged noisy doors that don't close. Ref is damaged and works as a freezer only. Some rooms have refrigerators, chairs, and tables, while others do not. senitary handels are rusty and damaged. TV works partially.
The ugly: Noisy and loud. I could hear everything out of the room because the door is not sealed and has a big gap at the bottom. I couldn't sleep more than 5 hours every night for six days. Visitors are coming and going to other rooms. They come and go in groups.
One day, they set up an electricity generator under the veranda. It was a nightmare.
Useless swimming pool since they have swimming lessons every day. They prioritise these lessons over their guests. You don't get informed about this when you check in. In my six days, I was able to swim for 1 hour only.
Verdict It is more like a chalet with restaurant than a hotel. If you are planning to stay for more than one night, keep away...
Read moreOverall, Marzon Hotel is a good value for money and arguably one of the best hotels in Kalibo. From Kalibo Airport, it is 25 mins away on foot, 4 mins by car.
A basic bedroom is at least 50% larger than most 3-star hotels I’ve stayed in in Europe, US, Asia and Oceania, that I’ve had more than enough space for Yoga! The bed is comfortable and the linens felt like they have at least 1,000 thread count.
The staff are attentive, warm & friendly and made sure that all my requests and questions were answered promptly.
The free breakfast delivered to my doorstep every morning offered an authentic Philippine cuisine experience. Should you wish to order more food stuff, the restaurant next door called “Latte” offers a wide variety of food and drinks selection. Some of the dishes are good for 2-4 people so apply due diligence by asking all the relevant questions about the item before placing an order.
Overall, I highly recommend this place and I’d love to stay there...
Read moreWe stayed here because I just wanted to get out of the house, (we're locals) and book a hotel with a pool so we can swim but we were very disappointed. The swimming pool had those black worms (I took a photo of it) so instead of swimming in the pool, I ended up just sitting in the pool with my feet on the floor. And there were also this bugs that bite you in the pool which where so itchy. ||||On top of that, there were only 2 pillows on the bed so if you are travelling as a couple, you are gonna have to pay an extra 50 pesos for an extra pillow. ||||And the weirdest thing of all, this is literally the only hotel I have ever been my entire life that did not serve coffee in the morning. I asked the receptionist if they had coffee or something and they told me they did not have coffee. ||||The only thing I would say is acceptable was the cleanliness of the room. They have clean rooms and it smells good specially when you enter the room for...
