We stayed at Pacific Cebu Resort for 5 days and 4 nights, with a group of 12 people, including 3 kids. We booked 5 rooms, expecting a relaxing and enjoyable stay. However, our experience was mixed, with some serious concerns that need to be addressed.

Check-in Process & Security Deposit – A Major Inconvenience

Upon arrival, we were surprised to learn that the resort required a security deposit of ₱2,000 per night per room. That amounted to ₱40,000 for our stay, and to make matters worse, they only accepted cash—no card payments were allowed. Realistically, who carries that much cash when traveling? Even if we did, requiring a deposit per night seems excessive.

Fortunately, after speaking with the manager, they allowed us to deposit only ₱5,000 instead. While they did mention the security deposit in their terms and conditions, the exact amount was never specified, nor were we informed in advance to prepare cash. Transparency on this policy would have helped avoid the frustration.

Food & Corkage Fees – Unreasonably Expensive

The resort’s restaurant pricing is extremely high—about four times the usual price. While we understand that resort food tends to be pricier, this felt excessive. Additionally, they impose a 30% corkage fee on food ordered from outside.

We acknowledge that we should have reviewed their policies more thoroughly, but in our experience, this was one of the most restrictive and overpriced food policies we’ve encountered at any resort.

Room Conditions – Poor Maintenance & Outdated Features

For the price we paid, we expected at least well-maintained and secure rooms. Unfortunately, we were disappointed: • Room locks were basic home locks, which felt insecure and easy to breach. • Rusty under-sink areas, which should have been fixed or replaced. • Ants and even rats were found in some rooms! This was completely unacceptable. On the bright side, they did refund our food that was eaten by the rats, but the presence of rodents in a supposed resort setting is a major hygiene and safety issue. • Outdated photos online—the resort looks much better in pictures than in reality, which feels misleading.

Amenities & Staff – The Good Parts

Not everything was bad. The swimming pools were well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Despite the issues, the service provided by the employees was commendable, and they tried their best to assist us throughout our stay.

Overall Verdict – Not Worth the Price (Yet!)

While Pacific Cebu Resort has potential, it needs major improvements before we would consider recommending it. The lack of transparency on deposits, overpriced food, poor room maintenance, and hygiene concerns made it feel like we didn’t get our money’s worth.

If management addresses these issues, this could be a decent place to stay. But for now, I would advise future guests to review all policies carefully, prepare for hidden costs, and set their expectations accordingly.

Would we return? Not unless significant...

Sinulog days, we are not able to book within cebu city so we then plan to look for a resort in Lapulapu. As we search a place wherein we will be able to relax, enjoy the place and have fun with our family, we found this place. Based on the photos uploaded on the website it was so enticing so we chose the place and booked for 2 nights and 3days.

Everyone's excited as we will be making memories with our family and this seldom happens.

We arrived Pacific Cebu at night. As we entered the place, it seemed dark, only few light were turned on. When we arrived in the reception are, a guard was walking around us, keep counting us making sure we will not exceed on the rooms that we've book or making sure to pay excess and pay extra bed. He seemed so annoying! He keeps on walking around us and looking at us as if we are suspicious people.

When we are settled on the rooms, we check and get some rest. The room is quite different as we saw on the photos. The aircon got fixed because it was not cold, on the other room we had the tv is not working.

We went out to chill out in Lapulapu as we we're bit annoyed on what we had experienced the time we arrived.

In the morning, we were positive to explore the place as what we saw on the photos. We woke up early to get some relaxing view. Unfortunately what we saw is so opposite on what they've posted on the internet. The area is wide and they've got 4 pools however the place seemed abandoned. Theres a lot of falled leaves, the garden was dirty. The plants needs to be trimmed. Seemed like a jungle in some areas.

Kids were excited to play basketball as there were a lot of amenities mentioned on the website, but when they went on the court, it was totally opposite on the photo uploaded on their website.

We just tried to enjoy ourselves and making memories with our family and tried looking in some areas that looks good though It was deepressing paying expensive place and you are not satisfied.

The photos on their website are too good to be true.

Pacific Cebu Resort, we just thought that maybe You are so strict especially on the headcounts because your are still reviving from the typhoon and just opened the resort few months ago? You should have atleast clean the area before opening the resort. Atleast you will have your guests satisfied of the expensive rate theyre paying. "Bahala untag strikto mo, mahal ug bayad peru satisfying!"

You have a good place, however it was not manage properly as it was not cleaned up. "Sayang ang Lugar, hugaw."

And please dont give your guest false expections on your photos uploaded on your website. Otherwise make it a reality.

"expectation vs reality" 👎👎👎👎👎👎

However there are some areas that were fine though. But overall review, we...

We've booked two night in their Spa villa for more then 200€ per night expecting to nicely relax on our last days of holidays. Unfortunately, that was far from reality! In the evening we've discovered that there's no hot water which makes not only the whole experience of spa in the bath just non existing but also makes it quite difficult to take a basic shower, especially with 2 kids. Then TV wasn't working. After technician fixed it we've started having power cuts in our Villa. So again we had to walk to the reception to ask them to fix it. The rest of the evening we've just spend outside enjoying the company of mosquitoes and frogs ( yes, the villa that they gave us was the furthest away next to some swamps) in the dark. So basically we've spent the whole evening calling and walking up and down to the reception. Finally, around 10.30 pm I could put my kids to bed as electricity was back on. The next day we were informed that there was a mistake and their villa's should not have been rented out as they have all those problems with water and power. So we were offered to move to another room which we've politely refused as we've already taken a cold shower and had a boat trip planned and would have be back already towards the evening. But we've agreed to have some compensation for paying extra for something that we couldn't use ( spa bath) and the other inconveniences. We thought it was fair to ask at least the price difference between their Spa Villa and the other family room that we would have chosen if we didn't want to use spa facilities. The manager told us that we should contact Hotels.com through whom we've booked our stay as they are facilitating all the payments and take the commission. Unfortunately, Hotels.com was absolutely useless with their standard emails and not even being able to contact the property. I've also tried to contact the hotel on my end, of course without any success! First time I'm facing such an dishonest attitude from a hotel. All I can say - bunch of liars!! Extra bonus was upset and hurting stomach from their food (or free water) at the dinner. Everybody from our family had it more or less. And it's definitely from their kitchen as guests are not allowed to bring any outside food or drinks. Housekeeping came at 6pm on our second day. Seriously? Nothing close by the hotel (no bars, restaurants, shops etc) and quiet difficult to order a Grab. Very loud and old AC in the room. The only nice thing about the breakfast was an egg station the rest of the food...

I have a bad experienced checking in, I booked a room from a 3rd party app but it’s a legit app since I’ve been using that for 3 years and I have no problem with it, till this thing happened I payed for a room yesterday that I haven’t even use since they will not accept my booking, the name have two letters that incorrect but all the information is right. I can’t understand why they will not accepted it since I experienced this from other hotel I booked. It’s just a small mistake but it become i waste. It’s like I pay for Their room that I did not use. I was really piss off yesterday! I know my fault that I didn’t double check the spelling of the name I used but I payed for that. It’s just 2 letters that is in correct . I have a very difficult time to edit that since I booked using a 3rd party. I already contacted that app I booked and they already till me to just wait 48 hours but that day I need that to be fixed. The 3rd party app told me they confirm my request and will fixed it but the hotel would not accept that confirmation from the 3rd party.. They say it should be agoda not the 3rd party. This can be resolve but the front desk is not flexible. Nagbooked ako sa the noble hotel with the same little mistake and ibang tao pa yung mag check in di yung under sa name na nilagay ko but they accepted it. Why u guys have no consideration the payment will surely sent that on u there even that name spelling was incorrect! u just have to wait little since I already trying to fix it. I end up booking another room since I have no way to fix it that day. Grabe porya gaba as in! Diskompyado ang frontdesk kay 3rd party ang Booking thru agodo pa rin naman and if May ma scam dyan kami nmn na guest hindi kayo. So why gyud no perti ka oa sa duha ra ka letra na spelling na makahulat man unta to since gipa change na. Policy nyo over!!! May unta inyong room limpyo gyud, a lot of mosquitoes and May ipis pa. Yes maganda ang view ng resort pero pangit service at ang room I sama mo na rin yung adobo nyo na sobrang alat. Food is bad room is bad front desk policy is bad bawi nlng tlga sa view noh.

When we arrived at the hotel, the staff greeted us. We proceeded to our room, and I asked the concierge who assisted us, “Is this a superior room?” The concierge replied, “No ma’am, this is a standard room.” I immediately told him that we needed to go back to the front desk because this was not the room I had booked — I had booked a superior room. When we returned to the front desk, they finally transferred us to the correct room, which was the superior room. However, the front desk staff never apologized for the inconvenience. While waiting for our guests to arrive for dinner, we ordered a Hawaiian pizza, a spicy aglio olio (which was not spicy at all), a green mango shake, and a banana shake. The food was good overall, but the service needs improvement. Staff should check on guests halfway through their meals to see if anything needs to be corrected — for example, my banana shake had a tiny hair in it. Although we didn’t complain at the time, it was disappointing. When our visitors arrived at the hotel, the concierge told them they could only stay in the lobby and restaurant, and that they were not allowed to roam around the hotel. I found this very rude. Is this how you treat your guests and their visitors? I was extremely disappointed. From the check-in issues, to finding hair in my drink, to the poor handling of our visitors — no one from your staff even said sorry for any of the problems we experienced. How can you attract new customers if visitors and walk-in guests are treated this way? A hotel should not just be about dining; people should also feel welcome to explore and appreciate the beauty of the resort. All in all, it was a poor experience with customer service.
