We were on Bohol before we came to Siquijor by ferry. We Didn't kknow that there was a ferry right to Larena, so we took a ferry to the port of Siquijor and went by tricycle to Flora's Dive and Resort. MAKE SURE TO WITHDRAW MONEY FROM SIQUIJOR. The cash machine in Larena does not work all the time.||||And I have to say, it was just brilliant.||||||The staff which is actually Flora's family (his sons, the sister-in-laws, brothers, etc.) and welcomed us and were friendly right from the beginning.||Rooms: We got one of the few bungalows. A simple room with a simple bathroom. Totally fine for us since we didn't plan to stay in the room all-day. There a couple of hammocks, chairs and deck chairs around to relax or read a book.||||Food: You could order from a menu or just get surprised. Either way, it was delicious. Sometimes a sandwich, than a soup or something else.||||Diving: Flora and Chris (his oldest son) were diving with us. The other two stayed on the boat and helped us getting into the gear. Being a dive instructor for decades, Flora knows the spots by heart. He is very calm and teaches you the one or the other trick. It was just great. Especially the wreck diving was amazing (Japanese wreck from WWII).||||Area: Make sure to see the fireflies! They are a 5 minute walk to the left along the beach. Don’t forget to bring a torch or headlight. ;)||Larena is nearby. You could walk but you should rather go by bike. There is also an ATM (cash machine) which worked just one out of 5 times. The next cash machine is by the port of Siquijor (April 2015). We have been at Flora’s while there was a local festival. HILARIOUS! We and other guests went with the whole Flora family to the local festival and had so much fun.||To explore Siquijor, we rented out a motorbike and drove around the island within a day. We saw old churches, a waterfall in which you could jump into with a rope, nice beaches and plenty of resorts and bars around.||||Other stuff: make yourself familiar with the ferry schedules from Larena and Siquijor while you are there. Watch out for holidays or other special days. We almost missed our flight from Dumaguete.||||All in all: It was a great experience for us, Flora’s hospitality...
Read moreWonderful place I've found serenity and peace for 10 days and I'd definitely stay longer if not flight schedule. The owner of the place sends vibes of a great, conscious amd honest person. I also had my first dive there and unexpectedly four turtles arrived. Neal is a perfect instructor for a beginner diver. I felt perfectly safe and entertained all the time in a beautiful house reef they have. All facilities are nice, rooms clean and with mosquito nets. Free water refills help to save environment and WiFi works well for Philippine standards. Complimentary coconut just after arrival made my day. Maybe I'd just work a bit on omlette and chapsuey. Coffe, munggo beans and the other food I had was nice and they have some vegetarian...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here for a week, and we cant recommend this place enough.||||The Place: The bungalows are simple, and right on the beach. Almost every morning we enjoyed coffee on our front porch while watching the waves come in.||||Food: Was always delicious! Local fisherman use part of the resort to keep their boats and equipment, and they share the catch with the resort. If you feel like fish for dinner, it doesn't get any fresher than that.||||Diving: My husband went diving twice and was impressed both times with his experience. Neal is an incredibly experienced divemaster that knows his home waters like no one else.||||You feel like family when you come here. Highly recommend this place to...
