GV Hotel Sogod — Hotel in Leyte

My recent stay at GV Hotel Sogod was nothing short of a disappointment. From the moment we checked in, it became clear that this hotel fell far short of even the most basic expectations.

Hygiene and Cleanliness: The most unsettling aspect of our stay was the presence of rats in our room. It was distressing to discover these unwelcome guests scurrying around. We immediately requested a room change, but this incident left a lasting negative impression on our stay. The cleanliness of the hotel, in general, was subpar, with a notably small and dirty toilet and bath.

Facilities and Maintenance: The overall state of the hotel was nothing short of dilapidated. The furnishings in our room were in a state of disrepair, showing signs of heavy wear and tear. The poor maintenance was evident throughout the property, making it clear that significant investment and refurbishment are desperately needed to bring this hotel up to an acceptable standard.

Service : The service, while not the worst aspect of our stay, did little to mitigate the overall poor experience.

Only stay here if you do not mind bottom-of-the-line hotels with ice cold shower water (with bucket and pail)... a leaky sink... a squeaky bed and a TV with very poor reception. I knew what when entering into the lobby the kind of rooms it must have... but was traveling solo and there was no where else to stay in town... so I paid for my room and dealt with the conditions. Bottom line... not a place to stay for...

By western standards it is run down. No sound insulation, and translucent blinds guarantee no more than 5-6 hours sleep. 1.5 inch gap under my door, no soap, the water tap came off in my hand, the sheets are tired, the sink tap and toilet flush did not work, the walls and tiles are stained and the showers are cold.
