Okay, so I just wrapped up my stay at this hotel, primarily because it was super close to my meeting venue and boasted a ton of 5-star reviews. I booked a Deluxe Room with breakfast, and here's the lowdown ( something to consider): The room itself was decent for a business trip. Well-lit, good AC, smart TV, toiletries provided, and, crucially, reliable Wi-Fi. No complaints there. However, there was this weird smell coming from the bathroom drains, especially when the AC was off. Definitely something the hotel needs to address. A plumber visit, or maybe some better ventilation in the bathroom (just a suggestion). Also, they advertised a hairdryer, but there wasn't one in the room. Small thing, but if it's advertised, it should be there.
Breakfast was included, which was a plus. Except coffee wasn't. Seriously? You have to buy coffee separately? That was a bit of a disappointment, especially when you're trying to get going in the morning. The breakfast food itself wasn't great. Not your typical hotel breakfast, which I usually appreciate, but this just wasn't very good. I honestly would recommend they have their kitchen staff try the food and get some honest feedback, because it needs improvement. Parking was easy, plenty of space for your SUVs or sedan. That's always a bonus.
Now, the best part of the hotel? The staff. From the managers to everyone else, they were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They really made the stay pleasant, so they get a solid 5 stars from me for their service.
The location was perfect for my needs, the room was okay (minus the smell and missing hairdryer), and the staff were fantastic. But they really need to fix the bathroom issue, include coffee with breakfast, and seriously rethink the breakfast menu. If they sort those things out, it could be a really great...
Read moreThe staff was very affable. They're all with smiles that made my stay warm. They even gave me a welcome drink. I just have a problem with the room I was given, however.
Yes, the price for the travellers' room was just ₱1599 and you cannot expect much about the room because of it but, Room 204 is basically what I'd call a make-shift room just to maximize the space created due to the ventilation/sunroof. I mean, the room is not 100% covered with a concrete wall. The vent area which may look like a patio was just covered with a glass panel wall which was basically separated from my bed with just a curtain. This makes the room so noisy especially with the fact that the building itself is located on a busy street, where vehicles pass often, with drivers honking unmindfully.
In the morning, around 8 am, I was woken up by two of their staff members were talking loudly just in front of the said room. I was too shy to call them out. So yeah.. if you have a choice, better pick another room... avoid room 204.
I hope they can...
Read moreThis place was beyond exceptional, worth the visit and worth coming back to. Had an event here in Cauayan City and was trying to find an events place big enough for our meeting. Then I found Gonzales Hotel, this was the perfect place for our conference as it provided a spacious and well designed venue that catered to our needs. I enjoyed my stay here with the beautiful and affordable room rates along with the friendly staff. I got a chance to explore the place and below the hotel was a cafe and restaurant that had a wide range of food. We also discovered that there was a KTV, my friends and I got to check it out, cozy and private rooms — just what we needed after a long and...
