The place and the people serving you are nice, but the food is absolutely HORRIBLE garbage. Undeniably, they need a new chef or need to stop selling "food".
REVIEW UPDATE: One day later, I'm now sick and I haven't been feeling well ever since I ate here! š” Changed my review to 1 star from 2! I rarely ever get sick and I'm healthy; I didn't eat anything else that day and I also didn't go anywhere else. This resteraunt and their horrible food is responsible for making me sick!
I went there with my mom and my aunt; my mom almost vomited and felt bad about taking us there, my aunt complained about how bad it was and fed the "food" to her pets. I spit out my "food" and just waited in the car.
The menu is filled with foreign and fancy sounding things like stuff from Japan, Korea, Norway, and the US, BUT the food tastes nothing like what it's supposed to and its like a low class person from the Filipino market trying to cook fancy foreign food that they have no idea about. I should know; I lived in the US, I've been to Japan and Korea, and I have a Norwegian relative; They're food is a disgrace and a horrible mimicry of real cuisine.
The only 2 other people in the resteraunt also weren't smiling and quickly left. Now I know why it seems so fancy but no one comes here or recommends this place. People come here just once because it looks nice but then they absolutely regret eating here.
You should only come here to take pictures. Don't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust arrived in Cauayan and randomly picked this spot on Maps to eat with very little information or reviews, and wow - what did we just walk into???
A former school for the blind turned into fine dining establishment. A nicely manicured patio entrance leads to the main dining area with a large view of the kitchen. The woodcrafted furnitures are of exquisite quality and precisioned detail. The private rooms had different Victorian themes and color-schemes. The waterfall by the staircase was as amazing as it was soothing to the senses.
The staff were excellent, what we initially thought was going to be casual, turned into a magnificent elitaire experience.
The food. Well, the menu was expansive and covered various regional tastes so it was hard to decide on the spot. Figured to vary the selections so we had a ceviche, atlantic salmon salad for starters, the pasta alfredo and char kway teow for noodles, the Ilocano Patocillo for mains (we asked for a local fave), and the burned cheesecake for dessert, with a couple glasses of muscovado and cabernet.
The Chef definitely knows what he's doing - just look at the pics.
I'm honored to put this review down in its early existence and I sincerely hope this place reaches the top of the charts in Maps, Tripadvisor, and everywhere else on the web. If you're new into Cauayan, by plane or by car, you need to stop by here and experience it for yourself.
Thumbs up to the owners,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is a must to visit when you are Cauayan, you like an excellent food in a very nice atmosphere. It is simply a must in this city. We visited the restaurant for the Valentineās dinner (see picture of the menu). So we made a reservation in advance and got a nice table which was most likely reasonable since the place was at this evening very busy. Even then the waiters were very professional and focused. The food was in general delicious. A complementary glass of wine was provided as well. The portions were just right sized and nicely arranged on the plates. Two minor issues we experienced: the bone marrow was cold and the ordered sparkling wine had first to be chilled before it was served, which makes absolutely sense, but even then it was still warm. So we had to wait for our toast. Unfortunately the waiter didnāt point us to that fact of that this sparkling wine was āwarmā! Then we would have selected one a ācoldā one out of the huge list of sparkling wines. Despite this for sure we...
