We had an amazing visit to the province of La Union with a group of nice and very friendly people who shared their charm and wit all along the way from Manila to the major towns of La Union! We had our accommodation at La Playa Ursula Beachfront Resort in Paratong, Bacnotan, La Union. From this resort, most places of interest are in proximity. Good location and welcoming ambiance! The rooms with balcony are clean and spacious; however, I would apologetically mention my observation about the smell inside the bathroom of Room Federico. It stinked with bad urine smell even after splashing water on the flooring and walls. It seemed like the urine odor had been "absorbed into" the porous tiles and flooring _ that, what the whole bathroom needs is a thorough general cleaning with running water and disinfectant. I would suggest that you check the WC with yellowish stains all over the surface (inside and under) that might have accumulated over time. Strong scrubbing is a must. Also, the bathroom door needs changing because the lower part with over peeled faded paint is almost rotting or decomposing, perhaps due to bacteria and fungi. Because I am concerned about the nice ambience of your resort, I have to openly say this _ which I believe is for the good of your property to continually attract more and more guests. The inclusive traditional breakfast is OK but it can still be improved like serving a simple buffet breakfast with fresh fruits, juice and a few more options, since it is ranked as a 3-star resort. As a whole, we won't hesitate to recommend La Playa Ursula Beachfront Resort to our families, friends and international...
Read moreI've been to this resort twice. Both times with my family. |We booked our stay via the phone number we got from their Facebook account. They weren't very strict when it came to the number of people and the maximum age of children who can come in for free. |The staff were there to do what you wanted them to do but you'll never see them go the extra mile. Not very welcoming but efficient. I'm guessing the owner is the older man who runs around the place and is very hands on. Don't expect smiles from him.|The resort itself is kept clean at all times. I think the pools (1 kiddie and 1 for adults) are treated every morning. The kids love the mini fountains in the pool. I haven't seen a lifeguard around the area tho.|The beach is relatively clean and not too rocky, but be careful with the sudden dips in the sand especially during the high tide. It has black sand. Fishermen and vendors are at the beach every morning. Freshly caught fish, grilled to perfection, is the best. Yum!|The only other activity in the resort, apart from swimming, is singing with the karaoke machine found in the nipa huts.|Food is ok. I loved the breakfast tapa the most. ||My experiences at this resort were memorable, especially because I was with my family. It is clean, peaceful, and reasonable for a large group. |I very much look forward to my third trip to La Playa...
Read moreThe place is ideal for family outing. You can cook or bring your own food. There is a shed provided for cooking and grilling with tables and chairs where you can have a boodle fight. The staff are courteous and helpful. Rooms are cozy, clean and spacious at reasonable price. The complimentary breakfast is just fine. The only negative aspect is that the water in the pool is not being replaced often but treated only which makes it quite greenish in color. Walk in guests crowded the pool and thus, guests who checked in would not have a great chance to enjoy using the pool. Also, they make a lot of noise that disturb the occupants near the pool. The beach is only a few steps away from the room where we stayed. It's okay to swim in the beach but it's better when at low tide. It will be good if there will be a separate pool for check in guests only so that they will have the privilege to enjoy their stay...
