It was good that we arrived in the daytime - otherwise we would never have found it as Google maps location says right where you have to go left. Only small signs put on lamp posts which we only discovered after having turned the car around.||When found the location is nice though - very spacious and breezy from the ocean nearby. The hotel is abt. 5 km out of town proper so you must have own transport.||If you want to go to the beach, you must drive back half kilometre or jump the rice fields. Anyway the beach is very dirty, so we preferred the owners private pool which is open to hotel guests !!!||It seems the property have very few guests and they then try to compensate by overpricing. PHP 3.800 for a 3-bed room with no daily cleaning and poor Wi-Fi.||Breakfast included - but be aware that you have to choose between coffee or juice (which is actually only powder lemonade) if you want both you will be charged extra, which is not ok.||Restaurant serves tasty and nice meals, but at "city" prices. Anyway the food is definitely freshly cooked as you have to wait a bit for it and you hear the cooking, frying etc. going on in the kitchen.||The Norwegian owner was not present while we visited so the huge staff seemed overly relaxed, but surely smiling and very helpful.||Some paintwork was on-going inside and outside but did not affect our stay.||The room could use a thorough cleaning, especially the bathroom which we found quite dirty - seemed the cleaning in general is a light sweep only.||No daily cleaning of room the two nights we stayed !!!!!! - but fresh towels was given promptly when asked for.||With some improvement in management, maintenance and a bit lower prices this could be a good place to...
Read moreI recently stayed at Ovemar Hotel and Resort and wanted to share my experience. Firstly, it's worth noting that the resort is located over 5 kilometers away from Calle Crisologo Vigan, which may be inconvenient for those wanting to stay closer to the city center. Additionally, the signage leading from the highway to the resort is not very visible, making it challenging to locate the place.
The road leading to the resort from the intersection is quite narrow, allowing only one vehicle to pass at a time, which can be inconvenient, especially during busy times.
However, once you arrive, the facility itself is quite impressive. It's relatively new, clean, and boasts a beautiful landscape. I particularly enjoyed the human-sized chess pieces, swings, and outdoor chairs scattered throughout the property. Plus, they have ample parking space available.
Room accommodations start from 1900 pesos, which includes free breakfast at their restaurant located on the 3rd floor of the building. Despite the slightly limited number of staff at the restaurant, the breakfast was worth the wait, although we did wait almost 45 minutes for our meal to be served. The beds are comfortable, and the rooms are equipped with television and wifi connection.
Additionally, the resort features a swimming pool, adding to the overall experience.
Overall, while there were some minor inconveniences, such as the distance from the city center and the narrow road leading to the resort, the quality of the facilities, beautiful landscape, and reasonable pricing make Ovemar Hotel and Resort a worthwhile option for...
Read moreAbout 15 minute ride to Vigan, this resort hotel is located near the sea, giving guests good views of sunrise and sunset on the second floor deck area while enjoying the sea breeze and the view of the horizon and the sea. The place is quiet because it is distant from the crowded area of Vigan. There is a dedicated parking area within the hotel premises. Rooms are located in three floors. There is a diner in the hotel, that can serve meals to guests, convenient for an early morning breakfast for example. The rooms look dated because of the age of the establishment, but are at least maintained well, and kept clean. During our visit, we booked several rooms. All rooms are air conditioned, spacious, beds have comfortable sheets, and there are several electrical sockets where you can plug your devices to charge. The toilet and bath in each room is spacious, with heated shower, and a divider to prevent splash during shower. They have just reopened during our visit, so the staff were still in the process of renovating and beautifying the place. Food choices were limited at the time. This is a good place to stay in when visiting Vigan, for a noise-free sleeping time, and for a relaxing time at the building deck during the afternoon or night after a tiring busy tour. But for guests who want to stay near establishments and places of interest, this may not be your best choice of location. The staff are very accommodating and polite to guests, making the customer...
