We booked two Royal Suite rooms last October 31 for our December 26 arrival for a 3D2N stay. Upon arrival, we noticed that the reception staff were sort of confused what to do with us as they asked us to sit down and wait for a few minutes. But after we have seen other later-arriving guests being ushered to their rooms, we began to suspect there was something amiss. So we asked what's the problem and we were told that they have overlooked our booking and that there were no more Royal Suite rooms left. After several back and forth between the person in charge and whoever had the decision-making power, we were offered an upgrade of a villa accommodation which was actually a big upgrade because it costs twice the Royal Suite accommodation. However, there was only one such villa available and our other couple had to downgrade to a Deluxe room. Needless to say, they refused the downgrade at first but since there were only a few rooms in the resort, there was really not much alternatives and out friend couple had to accept the downgrade, but not without much protest. To the resort's credit, they also threw in two free dinners for all of us and even our extra person who happened to be our daughter and was a last-minute addition was not charged anything. Kudos to the staff, particularly Princess who was the person in-charge that day for doing the best that she could to rectify the resort's error.||As for the review, the resort is nice and has very good potential as a family or smnall group destination. However, since this resort seemed to have started operation in 2009, the villas which I suppose were the first structures built, showed much signs of age and lack of proper maintenance. Some of the things that needed attention in the Fuego Villa were:|1. the closet doors don't stay closed and the door catch needed replacement|2. the safety deposit box locking mechanism is already malfunctioning|3. the bathroom has a his and hers double lavatory but one has its drain plug stuck to closed and therefore unusable|4. the in-room phone has no dial tone|5. the faucet handle in usable lavatory is falling off|6. the door cement threshold in the bathroom leading to the pool appears a later addition but is not painted white as the rest of the walls.|7. Given the price of the villa accommodation, I expected at least a facial tissue supply, a bath gel and one more trash bin.||In fairness, the villa is spacious and the pool water was crystal clear. But much of the other amenities like the main pool area could use some upgrades, ie. modern decking. The reception counter walls also showed signs of wear with areas where the blasting has already worn off. The food is good but the breakfast is very basic, ie. Pinoy breakfast type and plated. On our last day, there was a preparation for a Renewal of Vow of some guests and the resort showed signs of disorganization. There was not a single staff to man the breakfast area (at least none at arond 8 AM when we were there) and the free breakfast offering like soup, coffee, juice, fruits and dessert, etc. were not replenished. The waiter served our breakfast but no water was served like the day before. We had to eat our breakfast without drinking water. ||If asked if I would recommend the place to my friends, I won't. I sincerely hope though that the management will do their best to improve what needs to be...

Beware. This is NOT a 4 star hotel. I'm writing this review during my actual first night at the hotel.

When we arrived, I immediately noticed that the place looks rundown. Similar to a house that has not been taken cared of for the last year or so. Then after that, I noticed the staff looked nervous. I felt they were not confident and were hiding something.

Nonetheless, we proceeded with check in. And there it is. Nothing looks similar to the photos published in their website and social media. Worst, we felt a "presence" in the old wooden cabinet in room 110. My wife and I tried to shrug it off but we were only able to bear it for 10mins before we got goosebumps just by laying in bed. We're both sensitive to these things and this is not the first time we experienced this in a hotel. But this time around, the presence that we felt was heavy.

We asked to be moved and we were surprised that they did not even hesitate to move us. At the same time, the family next to our room also requested to be moved.

As we let our situation sink in, we started investigating more about the hotel. Turns out since 2018, the hotel has already been getting really bad reviews and the experience from those reviews are the same experience we've been having during our stay, except for the presence.

In summary, the hotel is nowhere near the photos in the internet, food is really pricey, rooms are really dirty (you're better off at a motel). To be fair, staff are nice. But that's not enough to compensate for the rest of the hotel experience. To be honest, the vibe here is similar to the vibe of those haunted hotels you see in American movies. If that's your thing, you'll be very much welcomed here.

Rooms in the main bldg are mostly adjoining rooms. The other room tried to open the door between us in the middle of the night. Rooms are also not sound proofed. You can hear everyone walking and talking in the hallway as if there’s no door. No hot water in the bathrooms as well. We came on the start of a holiday weekend and most of their food are out of stock.

This is a warning. Stay away from this hotel. We probably won't stay for the 2nd night. Just...

Beautiful traditional Filipino style hotel with lodges to sleep 8 and rooms including luxury suites with large bathroom. We stayed in a Royal Suite on the 2nd floor and had no complaints great air con. Staff can't do enough for you, very friendly and polite. Drinks and food menu are limited and often what we wanted wasn't available but this may be down to supplies or demand. Massage was INCREDIBLE one of the best I've ever had and ensured I booked in for another. Just what was needed after long travel from the UK. The pool area is lovely with views of the beach and the sea. Could do with more sunbeds and chairs should there have been more visitors there would have been sunbed wars thankfully we were the only guests around the pool. There is a lifeguard but the pool does need a good clean and maintenance as parts were slimy and green from buildup of residue. This didn't spoil our enjoyment though. The pool bar would be lovely if stocked and used but we used it for shade non the less as there was minimal shade around the pool. The beach views are lovely with resident dogs and goats often visiting and passing for a drink . The beach would benefit from a good litter collection especially around the hotel boundaries to make things more pleasant for paying guests. Overall I would stay again just needs a bit of tlc and maintenance in some areas once that's in place this resort would...

Pictures are not current!!! Upon first checkin, room was super humid with wet walls and musty smell. Airconditioner struggled to work, maintenance were called but only turned it off and on again and said it was working, blowing hot moist air…..I did a complete reset and it slowly started to work. Once the moisture was removed from the air and walls, the smell became better, till the bathroom exhaust fan was turned on and the smell drawn into the room from the drains left us most uncomfortable. Black mold covered the joins in the updated bathroom, but I think the darker tiles were hiding things quite well. The view of the moss from our window on the concrete block wall gave something green to look at…. The food was average and varied in quality from night to night and they didn't have half menu in stock!! Beer and drinks were often warm. The Ilocanos meals were quite good, but varied in ingredients. Breakfast was ok, but you can’t expect much for free! The beach, well…..best to avoid. The amount of rubbish and debris made it a struggle to get to the water…. Please also be very careful in the car park area, the large stepping tiles may leave you with a broken ankle!! Please update this place, it has great potential, but the website appearance and the reality left us feeling very disappointed.
