My review to hotel camila 2 will be the somehow opposite of what i posted in hotel camila - pagadian..you will be greeted by their staff and manong guard..if they will see their guests along the hallway, at the stairs, the lobby and pool area, they are very attentive in sAying good morning, afternoon and evening with a genuine smile. For the physical appearance of the hotel, its more modern than in pagadian, camila is glowing at night because of the installed lighting effects system..the lobby is not that huge but, i felt enough space (the ventilation is excellent as well as the natural light coming outside). They have elevator, but since I am on the 2nd floor I opted to use the stair. At the 2nd floor, there is a common balcony where you can have a view of the pool and the garden(?). In my room (rear of the hotel) it has sufficient space (two single beds), has a great view of the pool, safety box is present and functioning, adequate outlet on the bedside table, LED tv (few channelS), they have a coffee table where you can read or do some reports as well as taking your dinner and breakfast if you want (facing the glass window), refrigerator with 2 bottled water (not free), drinking glasses and electric kettle filled with water (you can ask them to replace the water daily). Their staff is also attentive to make-up my room..for the food, maybe need to improve serving Time( its better to call them earlier to prepare your food).my all time favorite is the sunburst chicken because of its huge and yummy serving (its also budget friendly, 3 chicken with fries and rice), chiken mami and what food disappointed me is the potato sAlad (just ask them if the potatoes were fresh or frozen kept in the freezer). Huge space at the back with a clean pool (well maintained) there is also another restaurant beside owned by camila but we did not try and excellent location. |Downside|-free breakfast is not included|-no complimentary...
Read moreWe were at the Hotel Camila 2 for a week and it was alright. A family member used to stay here a few years ago and recommended it.
Good: price is fair, rooms are big and have mini fridges, there is a pool and restaurant with free breakfast. I think the location works for those who want to transit around the area as the rotunda is very close.
Not so good: It's about what I expect for an older hotel in Dipolog with some maintenance needed. Our room's ac unit had gaps around it that let in air light and was tilted. Ants were at the ready if you had a bit of food out. That's something I've experienced in other hotels in Dipolog but not all of them. There was a smell of sewage from the bathroom as other reviewers have noted. Again, I've experienced the same in other places in Dipolog, but not the more modern places. The staff were nice and helpful, but not as much as I've come to expect. The power is only on when your card is inserted in a card holder which I've seen a lot in Asia. This can be an issue if you want to come back to a cool room. Breakfast was simple and they didn't have half of what was listed.
If you want to save a few hundred pesos a night and want a pool, not bad. Otherwise there are a couple more...
Read moreRooms look very nice but underlying problems that are not being fixed. Read the other reviews. Do not stay here if you require wi-fi for business. It's up for 5-10 minutes down for 10-15. You have to place your key card in the slot in a hotel room to turn on the power and AC. So it takes half the night to cool the room to a comfortable temperature. No hot water. Which is good because you have to take a quick shower or the drain over flows into the room. You have to ask for toilet paper. Refrigerators don't keep anything cool. I think they shut off when you leave the room. I stayed in two different rooms on two different floors. Same problems in both. Foam mattresses not real beds. It was comfortable enough for my purpose. Canceled the remainder of my stay and move to another hotel in town. Saved money and had everything working I...
