My partner and I stayed here for a quick weekend getaway. However, as soon as we arrived at the hotel there was an extremely long line at the reception area. After queuing up we were next in line but the receptionist didn’t even bother to call us to the front and straight up ignored us. After the tedious process of checking in, we arrived at the room and it was decent at best. It lacked a lot of basic necessities such as towels and remote control for the television. We asked for these stuff at the lobby but it took them 3 hours (and 4 follow ups) just to provide these items to us. The food at dinner was expensive and mediocre at best and the service sucked as well. It took us over 30 minutes to queue up and over an hour before we could get our food. For the breakfast buffet it was a disaster and that’s not an exaggeration. We were told that the breakfast buffet starts at 7 am to 9 am yet when we went down on the dot, 7 am there was list??? and it was 2 pages long. Apparently they couldn’t accommodate everyone because “kulang ng tables.” After waiting for about an hour and a half we were finally seated and to our dismay, this so-called buffet had like 6 dishes. The food was at least decent but not remarkable or anything. Lastly, at check out, it took them soooo long to accommodate us. With that being said, it was not a great experience and lowkey ruined our supposed weekend getaway....
Read moreVery bad experience. Not recommending this place.
We got here around 1pm and we rented two big apartment units here because we were told we would have access to the entire resort facility. When we got there, we were shocked because apartment tenants only have access to the beach and a little pool. We were also disappointed when we learned that there wasn't any overnight swimming allowed. So basically, we paid 30,000 pesos for two adjoined apartment units for access to a small pool and a small portion of the long stretch of beach and only until 6pm. If we wanted access to the entire resort as well as the beach activities, we were told we need to pay 1,500 pesos each to just get in. We have to pay extra, to actually get to use, for example, the banana boat or island trips. So after 6pm, all we were left to do is to sit at our apartments and stare at each other and wait until it's 8am to again get to use the whatever few accomodation we were entitled to.
If we wanted to just pay for a place to sleep in (pretty much what we did most of our stay), we wouldn't have travelled hours to stay there. 30,000 for a small pool and limited access to the beach? Ridiculous! Not...
Read moreI’m really disappointed with my recent experience at Canyon Cove Hotel & Spa. I accidentally booked my stay for the wrong dates, thinking I could modify it afterward. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize the booking was non-refundable, and when I reached out to the hotel to explain the situation, they were unwilling to make any adjustments or even offer a credit — despite the fact that I immediately rebooked a new reservation for the correct dates.
What’s even more frustrating is that I called them right away after realizing my mistake, hoping they could assist me, but they still refused to make any exceptions. I understand that policies are in place for a reason, but considering that I’ve already rebooked with them, a bit of flexibility and understanding would have made a huge difference. Losing such a large amount over a simple mistake was truly frustrating and disappointing.
I guess it’s easy money for them. Just a reminder to anyone booking here, be very careful with your dates because they won’t accommodate any changes, even if you act quickly to correct an...
