Vasco's is a quaint, rambling establishment with seating for approximately 50 diners. The ambiance is nice, with the main seating area overlooking Subic Bay. The views are extraordinary. We were a party of four on our first visit. We were seated promptly and ordered Lemon Squash and Sprite. When the drinks arrived we indicated we were ready to order our meal. The waitress seemed a bit hesitant, like she wasn't prepared. We ordered two burgers, a taco, and a spicy curry. After 25 minutes we were starting to get anxious about not having received our food yet. It did finally arrive, with no comment from the waitress. While eating I attempted to get the waitresses attention for another Lemon Squash, but she wasn't reading her guests and never looked at me. Several times she passed our table without inquiring if we were happy with the food or if we needed anything. Note: this is quite typical for the Philippines. The food was satisfactory. Their tacos are huge and the curry was quite good. While there, check out the many artifacts from the nautical adventures of the owner. If you hadn't caught it, Vasco's is named after the Portugese explorer...

They serve all-time fave filipino dishes. may be expensive for some but the generous amount of serving is enough for two totally hungry medium-built people. They are open 24 hours but ordering a meal within late hours may affect taste and quality. So if you prefer to have a good meal, dine in common dining hours or else it may not be a good idea. Meal that I preferred to order is "pinakbet" - a traditional Filipino vegtables with pork sauteed in fish paste, it comes with one single serving of rice, i dont know, maybe its just my tastebuds telling me that it was sooo good, i just like how they prepared it.

Serving time: food might need a lot of preparartions. Make sure you have a lot of time and patience, grab a lot of fresh air and keep yourself busy while holding your mobile phone. Well during late hours, just try to chill out away from the city noise at the patio and have some ice cold beer and feel the ocean breeze with its natural calming sound.

Services: try to be friendly and expect a friendly services in return.

Worst service. Too slow. It took 1h 45mins to serve 5 dishes which were not hard to prepare as they were usual Filipino food. Servers kept extending the time and kept making excuses (weekend, chef is sick, guests arrived at the same time). Manager was very hard to find and came only after i repeatedly demanded for her presence. Food was served cold and the taste was average/below average. I was also able to see how they washed their utensils while I was talking to the manager near the kitchen and they were doing it really haphazardly and were not washing and rinsing the spoons and forks individually. |There were 3 other irate customers who were upset and shouting at the servers while I was talking to the manager because of long waiting time, cold and poorly cooked food and inattention of servers. |If you’re going to go here, you might be in for a big disappointment. Be sure you have more than 2-3hrs extra time as it will take nearly 2 hrs to get your food. |Will NOT come back here and definitely NOT recommending this...

Vibe: mystery and exploration. Navy vibin meets museum goers
Best spot: The interiors and the alfresco. Chill vibes like the Los Angeles California Coffee Scene. Going there you will see the ships located along the waters of argonaut highway so definitely a navy vibin/ port area of subic bay. The place is located in a small hotel. its a hidden gem so don't get confused if there’s really a restaurant inside.Theres a little museum at the entrance, feels like you're inside an old ship. The museum focused on the treasures retrieved during the spanish/american era in subic bay, quite interesting to see all the artifacts. We went there for dinner so you can still enjoy the view from the big ship parked in the area, there are lots of tourists having their evening drinks and yes this is a good place not just for dining in but also catching up beers after work.

This review dated Jan 29 2022. I just love the ambiance of this place. It's nautical themed and on display are various artifacts and other things that remind you of the rich history of diving. In fact take some time to look around. The restaurant is above the water beside two docks. There are several wide tables and the seats are comfortable. The decoration is spot on. Some are replicas but there are relics that are the real thing. Really nice place. They serve a mixture of food but mostly local cuisine. It takes some time for the food to arrive after you order. I ordered the karekare. Not outstanding. There is always a steady breeze coming from the sea and it was so enjoyable you would not want to leave. Parking was adequate. The comfort room is old but functional. It could use an improvement. It is equipped with a bidet and they provided liquid hand soap and tissue paper. You will be asked for your vaccination card and you will be asked to log in.
