They didn't respond to my email, Google message or when I messaged on the booking platform. Regarding a check in at night, I tried to contact them days before my scheduled booking to see if it was ok.

Instead of messaging me back so I could potentially cancel, I'm guessing they waited it out until my booking became non-refundable, thus taking the money from my account and I was forced to book elsewhere. Either that or they just aren't good at responding...
