Where to start? There are so many positive things about this place. In a nutshell, it has a very personal and homey feel to it. The term "home away from home" describes this place perfectly. This pet-friendly resort has several cottages each equipped with the regular amenities like air-conditioning, hot water, cable tv and internet. It shares the same shoreline as the more expensive resorts beside it. Food (bfast, merienda and dinner) is included in the room package. One would think that the resort would scrimp on these since all meals are offered buffet-style. The food was surprisingly excellent! Everything that was served (all Filipino dishes) was not just "pwede na". They were all delicious. The staff was attentive to all our needs. Whether it be as simple as a coffee refill to requesting for a make up room to opening our room due to our kids leaving the keycards inside the room (5x), they always acted in a timely manner, always with a ready smile. Though the other resorts have bigger pools, Sabangan used its space by providing plenty of lounge areas with trees all around where couples or families could just hang out. These also double as a place where guests can unwind and have drinks even until the wee hours of the following day. Which leads me to Sabangan's best feature (for me). There is absolutely no corkage. My friends and I brought tons of alcohol and we were never charged a centavo. Considering the prices of alcohol in most resorts, for me, this was the absolute clincher in choosing this resort. Highly recommended!

Went here for a weekend getaway. Beach is well-maintained and clean, as well as the pool. We enjoyed sitting by the beach even after sunset. The overall vibe of the resort is cozy and relaxing. In the booking confirmation, it is mentioned that there's a managed buffet, but their staff is not accommodating. Some of them are giving guests "the look" when they decide to have another round or get refills. The food is okay. We stayed in their Bamboo room. I was not able to sleep peacefully because a rat was running around our room. The rat can probably enter the room because of the hole near the aircon. When I mentioned it upon checkout, the staff just told me that they would report it and didn't apologize. Also, there are clear windows beside the shower of the restroom, and it feels uncomfortable when taking a bath. Overall, we will still recommend the place, but please make sure to review the details of the room you're booking to ensure a relaxing stay and avoid the Bamboo one.

Nice and shady parking lot close to the reception area. Pleasant atmosphere around the buildings and rooms with lots of plants, trees, and decorations. Found bats living at the ceiling of the hallways where our room was. Not that big of an issue aside from the droppings they leave (things they ate and poop). The room was clean but with some defective lighting. Tv, aircon, and mini-ref were working fine. Comfort room was pretty spacious but the shower water pressure was very, very weak. The food was delicious and par with our expectations. Chips, cup noodles, drinks, and other snacks were available for purchase. The beach was clean and the water was crystal clear in the shallow parts (up to 3 feet). Gentle waves make this area a nice place to swim and have fun. Water activities like jetski, banana boat, and kayak are available for a price. Overall, 7.5 out of 10. Not bad at all for the price we paid but still could use a few improvements.

I do not recommend this resort because we were expecting a place to relax and not get stressed out by their poor management and customer service. See details below:

✅️ Location is 3 hours away from Imus, Cavite via SLEX-Lipa City. ✅️ Their sales office accommodated our last minute booking for day-tour (Dec 24, 2023) with AC room for 10 persons and a pet (with sanitation fee of P500). ❌️ Upon sending proof of downpayment, the sales person (Mikaela) was not answering the messages and calls and there was no confirmation via email which was contrary to what was indicated on their quotation. The sales person, who we learned later on was based in Manila, only replied that she was out of the office when we already arrived at the resort. All of the contact information shown in their quotation, website and social media accounts were all Manila-based. When we told the receptionist of the situation, she apologized and said that it was always the case--that the Manila sales office was hard to contact. How was it that when we were booking they were so quick to respond? Yet the management did nothing to resolve the issue. ❌️ The assigned room was located at the second floor having approximately 12 square meters excluding the toilet & bath. They said it is for 10 persons but can only comfortably fit 6 with a sofa set and a single bed. Lavatory has no water but shower has a working water heater. I stayed in the gazebo with my dog since the room was cramped. ✅️ Pets were not allowed in the Pavilion (open dining area) but we were allowed to dine at the gazebo nearby. It has 3 outdoor sofa sets and several dining table and chairs. Pets were not allowed in the pool but allowed in the beach. ✅️ Can bring snacks and drinks without corkage fee except for liquor. ❌️ If you just came out from swimming, staff will prevent you to go to the Pavilion and tell you that you should change clothes first. That's what they exactly told us. And what if we want to swim right back after lunch? Funny because the Pavilion was designed as an open dining area with ceramic floor tiles per se. Hence, all of us ate at the gazebo. ❌️ We ordered lunch at 11:30am and were told that food will be served after 30-45 minutes. Guess what? Food were served after an hour and a half just because they were waiting for the rice to be cooked. But what really happened was they priorotized the guests who were checked-in and so we had to wait. Another funny thing was that the food including the soup that we ordered were served cold. Dish for sharing is P450 for 2-3 persons excluding rice and drinks which we found a bit on the high side. ✅️ Beach is clear, medium coarse beige sand. ❌️ Fenced beach front so you are not allowed to walk along the shore of adjacent resort which should be a public place. ❌️ Around 3PM, the housekeeping supervisor (Carlo) asked the staff to clean the gazebo where we were staying and without any advise nor explanation, with the sour look on his face, moved our things and was clearly asking us to leave. ✅️ They served a managed buffet merienda which was included in the day tour package.

I hope this gets to the owner of the resort. They will lose customers if no action...

First of all, I'd like to comment on the resorts within the area in general - it's either they over estimated the value/quality of the beach, they're just plain bad in estimating their pricing, or they correctly estimated the value/quality of the beach and just over compensated in their accommodations - resulting to unacceptable prices. One thing I can guarantee is that the experience leaves something to be desired.

Now, off to my review of Sabangan Beach Resort. It should be noted that we stayed here during the weekdays for 3D2N.

Pros: The compound has a lot of trees in it - you'll really feel that you're in the province Relaxing ambience due to the aforementioned trees Accommodations include full board meals - breakfast, lunch, and dinner The food (surprisingly) tastes good Friendly and extremely helpful staffs The atmosphere feels friendlier than the two adjacent resorts - this is subjective Peaceful - at least during our stay Seems safe enough due to the 24/7 security Clean compound in general Ample parking space with lots of shade from the trees Air conditioning is good Beds are small, but comfortable - the size is subjective Availability of water sports/activities

Cons: Their rooms/accommodations are small given the price Accommodations seem a bit too pricey for what you're getting from it - hint: they are not the one who overcompensates in their accommodations Rooms/accommodations are a bit noisy - needs to improve sound proofing Beach is not that impressive - applicable to all resorts within the area as well. Again, this is subjective Their pool is not temperature controlled - yes, it can be a little too cold to swim Too many vendors roaming along the shore, and can be very annoying given their approach in selling their goods - applicable to all resorts within the area No available laundry service, or at least clothes dryer to say the least - though drying racks are available per room

Additional comments: To those who mentioned that the pool is dirty, it actually is not. The pool has leaves falling in it - that's normal considering the pool (and the compound itself) is surrounded by a lot of trees and plants. Yes they lack a few toiletries - they don't provide toothbrush and toothpaste, but that's okay as I prefer to bring my own. The water heater in our accommodation was weird - it can't keep the water consistently warm. The shower drain in our accommodation was not good. I had to remove the cover for the water to properly drain - the cover is easy to remove by hand. Mobile signal/mobile data: Smart (excellent signal/excellent speed), Globe (poor signal/slow speed)

Sabangan Beach Resort is a good place to unwind - we enjoyed our stay, and it really helped us relax.

I might...
