This is an oasis in the hottest place in the Philippines. My family stayed here 10 nights. We had no big issues staying here. There was some very minor upkeep issues with the wobbly bathroom tap and the calcium deposits on the faucets, but otherwise our room had air conditioning, and hot/cold water with a toilet that flushes. The pool was fantastic. We were in that every day. There is an algea issue that probably should be dealt with. This is especially noticeable on the steps and the rim of the pool. Pretty minor though. The staff were awesome. From the security to the servers, everyone gets a 10 star. Being Canadian, there was some language barriers, but the staff were good and i hope that they didn't find me arrogant. I tried to tip well here. Overall, the rooms were modern and up to date. The breakfast is free for only two people, not like here in Canada where its free for all the room guests. That would be my only real negative and its something to keep in mind that even if you book indicating all the people that will be staying there, only two get the free breakfast. Still, the meals were good and I found the prices reasonable from a Canadian standard, but it might be high for people that live and work in the Philippines. My family would definitely stay here again. Bob the owner is an amazingly pleasant person to speak with. If I had one suggestion, it would be that staff where a uniform clearly indicating that they work for the Hotel. Lots of times I didn't know who people were around the hotel whether they were employees...
Read moreWe had 2 Rooms with pool view that gives a nice first expression but the room itself wasn’t just old like the rest of the hotel. We have two different experiences keep that in mind. My friend wasn’t that unlucky as me. it was insects in the bathroom and of course mold in shower area which seems to be a common thing even in hotels with higher prices. Keep in mind that It’s no elevator. Aircondition didn’t work, I told them and it didn’t took long before it was fixed. I found the staff very helpful and polite. Wifi was bad and cellular struggled to get signal when inside the hotel. The restaurant was the baddest we had on our 40 days travel. It's very loud here. Asia is not known for good sound insulation, it seems that they use sound amplifying materials.
As for the good things, each room got 3 sets of toothpaste kit, our rooms was larger than we thought (1 room 3 beds) 3 different hardness of madras. A 55” smart TV and minibar. Free cold and warm water tanks in every floor. The blanket was perfect not too cold/warm. They have a service driver with a minivan that drive the guests where they want within reasonable distances for free. Staff is helpful, making our stay feel lot more at ease also when it comes to local transportation info that we weren’t able to find without them. I got sick and they drove me to the hospital, waited for me 1hour, drove me to the pharmacy and come with me to ensure I was taking cared of. Just this alone I...
Read moreI love the large rooms. Max of 6 adults in the bigger rooms. If availability allows, you can get a room with a separate door to the pool. Even better, you get to have breakfast delivered at the table just outside that said door. Some rooms may even have another toilet. You get a free shuttle service to SM since not much choice of a better group transportation. The location is just farther from the main stream of transporation. The only negative is a smell once you get in the room. I though of it as “amoy ipis” but it’s actually coming from the bathroom drain which may be lacking a water seal. Overall the stay was great just put a lid on the drain...
