My family and I stayed on this hotel overnight en route to Cagayan de Oro City from Davao City. The room we stayed on was dated already and was showing its wear and tear with some cracks on the walls and the floor was clearly not cleaned properly prior to our arrival. The toilet was not properly clean with some moulds and stains clearly visible. The shower was a bit adequate to have a proper shower but no hot water. We had to wipe and spray the toilet seat with anti-bacterial wipe and spray because it was clearly visible to be not clean. There were also mosquitoes inside the room. I was able to kill at least four mosquitoes after that I decided to give up because I was already tired from driving. We ordered Fried Rice (stale and not freshly cooked), Patatim( salty and not fresh), Vegetable Stir Fried( ingredients clearly left overs from the previous day) for room service and was very disappointed with what they brought us. I went to the front office to have the Fried Rice be cooked again but what the cook did was pretended as if he was using the wok to heat the Fried Rice by making loud noise with it. I waited in front of the front office while the cook was "heating" it but when I received the plate of Fried Rice it was still cold. I decided not to complain anymore and had the Fried Rice transferred to our container and will re-heat it once we are already in our destination. It is really a hotel for people who have no choice but to stay on it overnight after a long drive but never again will we stay on this hotel. Anyways, as they say, "You get what you pay for" and in this case such adage really fits this hotel. If you pay for a cheap hotel, you really are going to get cheap service and not so delicious food, if I may add. The hotel staff was a liar. It was not a...

Edit 9/26/2022: Hotel management asked us to delete social media posts regarding our experiences and/or opinions. Said posts will remain public.

Major mosquito problem; they are living in the toilet (1 - 4 flew out each time we flushed it), drains, and probably aircon. There were plenty of dead ones on the floor when we entered the room. They offered to spray the room with insecticide and sweep it while we're went to dinner. After returning from dinner, we killed 15 more mosquitos over the next couple hours before we stopped counting. I also noticed none of the doors close airtight (entry and bathroom) so mosquitos might be sneaking in there as well.

Even with the aircon on full blast for 4+ hours the room was only almost comfortable but should have been freezing cold. It made loud noises and spat out water that pooled on the floor which only got worse until midnight. The night clerk thinks it had built up ice so I had to increase the temp to 26. This and sleeping with full clothes on to help protect us from bites, on top of the sheets, sweating, which draws in mosquitos even more.

The double bed is too short for me, a 6 footer. My feet dangle off the end of the bed like bait for mosquitos.

Morning: 6:00 am Housekeeping noises in front of our room door and a CONSTRUCTION crew with a cement mixer (right outside our window) began promptly at 6am. I got less than 4 hours of miserably uncomfortable sleep. And now it sounds like the hotel's remodel crew outside our door is staying work; it is 6:30am. 2 mosquitoes flew out of the toilet bowl when I approached it and then 4 more flew out when I flushed it.

Summary: Not only will we never be back, but we have every intention of checking out early and seeking a refund for the...

Stayed at Hotel Valencia for one night (June 2023) and for the price, I think it's excellent value for money. Here's why: *The room provided great value for the price, offering ample space. *The bed sheets and pillows were clean and comfortable. *The availability of hot showers was clearly posted and convenient. *The staff promptly attended to my requests and were attentive. *The restaurant service was quick, and the food was both delicious and reasonably priced. Although I noticed an unpicked soap wrapper, it was a minor issue - the room was generally clean. The air conditioning unit made some noise but did not significantly affect my sleep.
