Situated 10klms south of Dauin about a klm down a dirt, rocky unkept track. Pros Well maintained small boutique resort with well appointed European style rooms Beautiful outlook looking towards Apo Island Clean and stylish swimming pool Restaurant is well appointed and ordered food was good with reasonable prices I didn’t dive but dive centre seemed well equipped and they did a day trip to Apo whilst I was there . Cons Firstly the management who I believe are Russian. Upon arrival and throughout the 3 days I never was once accorded any friendly greeting or even a hello from I understand is the manager and his wife. If you own a resort then you must embrace your guests . The staff are friendly but I had the feeling that the management may make them feel uncomfortable and therefore not display the true Filipino friendless The breakfast is very basic . Coffee is almost undrinkable. Not pleasant having a dog fight beside my breakfast table one morning. Seems the owner feels it’s his own pet playground with his own barking dog . Have been in the Phillipines several months and understand the culture with dogs but this is unacceptable. They overlooked cleaning the room one day when I was out and therefore requested it be cleaned as I had dinner that evening Hammocks are made of local bamboo and are too small and unkept Internet is very poor and requires a new code voucher daily. Situated next to houses so expect barking dogs Overall I would have given this resort a higher rating if not for the management . Change the management and this resort would or could be substantially improved. I hope the owners and management take ownership of these issues.

There are so much I appreciate about Mahi Mahi The room is nice but they put me in room '10' which is the noisier than other room because it locate just undet the stairs to 2nd floor. The restaurant was 'ok' most of the food is 7/10 the only note for restuarant staff which need more training as for when we order something or would like to exclude something we really wantas we ordered. My experience is that I ask for no olives on my pizza, but they did serve me with olives. Then they don't even replace the pizza they just say 'it's ok'. Which is not really ok for me. The staff / dive crew are 9/10, They know what they are doing. The cleanliness is questionable because they have too many pets, 4+ cats, and 2+ dogs and the villager pets also join in. The worst part is when we eat they always around. The noise at night is not very relaxing. Dogs barking all night. So for me it is one of the good resort which have so much potential if 1. More trainings on restaurant staff 2. Don't allow pets in the restaurant area 3. Find a way to silence the dogs Will definitely come back, the dives were great!.

The rooms are nice and the staff is friendly but the place is poorly managed. The check in done by MC was a disaster and very chaotic. They gave away our room and tried to downgrade us. She forgot to mention half of the things and does not understand English at a sufficient level to work at a reception. The set up of the dive center is a disaster as well. They don’t go out everyday so don’t expect diving trips to be guaranteed. In addition, the location of the dives and the number of dives for that day is left to the debate of the divers. Nobody takes the lead. The gear is not properly taken care of and guests and dive masters touch the underwater life. I absolutely hate that and that’s simply not ok. They have a lot of dogs that bark wildly at you and don’t listen to the staff. Because there are also a lot of roosters, chances are that you won’t sleep at night. The hotel has a restaurant that serves ok food. All in all I don’t recommend this place

BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE! We spent 3 weeks in 8 accommodations, and this is the only one we weren't happy with!||||BEWARE - tax is charged on top of the price that you see online. This is not the same for Philippine-owned hotels, only for this Russian-owned hotel.||||RUSSIAN OWNER ARGUED WITH ME OVER FOOD - in a painful situation that I struggle to forget, I ordered ribs. The smallest portion of ribs you've ever seen came out, and I ate them. I then asked if that was a full portion or not, and suggested that it must have been a starter portion. The female Russian owner came over and argued the toss with me for 20 mins at the table! I tried to back out of it and say I'd pay, but she wanted to continue to make my night even more depressing. DON'T BOOK THIS HOTEL!||||Ok, from the top... the place has a depressing atmosphere. The Russian owners are always sat, smoking in the non-smoking area, creating a strange, unfriendly atmosphere in the outdoor restaurant.||||People in the Philippines are happy, but all of the staff here seem depressed! The waitresses can't forge a smile, and the reception staff can't even manage to make a phone call to find a boat to the next island for you. We tried for 45 mins, and I ended up working it out myself!||||Some of the portions of food are small and EXTORTIONATELY over-priced.||||Wild dogs bark all night, like you've never heard in your life.||||The diving instructors are the most work-shy we saw in the Philippines. We attended a scuba trip just to snorkel on Apo Island, and unfortunately the instructors tried to end the trip after just two dives, which was at 1.30pm. We'd arrived at Apo at 1030. After discussion with the instructors, they agreed to stay another hour, but they made sure it was...
