This place is in a superb location. The accommodation is of high quality and the staff are extremely helpful. When we arrived we were met by the owner and his family and were taken to our rooms ( Lena 1 ) and found everyone really helpful on what to do and where we can find things around Zakopane. The top of the slope is less than a minutes walk away and there is a small ski hire shop there too. There is limited equipment but for a beginner its good and this is a great place to stay. There are gentle slopes for getting used to having skis on and then you can use the Szymoszkowa slope which is more of a meadow than a full on blue/red run. Its a great place to learn to ski at more affordable rates than France or Italy holidays would charge. Its ideal for families to stay, away from the hustle and bustle of the Krupowki high street, in a quiet location. The main cable down to the village is 15/20 minutes walk/stroll ( if you can get past the restaurants and bars without popping in ), theres superb food and friendly staff in all of them. If you don't want to walk, there is the chairlift down to the taxi rank/ bus stop or just call a taxi to come and pick you up from Gorski Dworek. If you are looking for a lively place this isn't it !! Its fantastic for a quiet relaxing family holiday, which was perfect for us. We found Gorski Dworek to be a friendly place to stay and would have no hesitation in recommending it to couples...
Read morethe accomodation at gorski dworek is in big all-woodern cottages (cabins) which have apartments with their own entrances inside the cottage.||the apartment we stayed at was for a maximum of 5 people, but they let 6 of us stay in there, as its ability to accommodate all of us was just fine, 4 beds and 1 couch (double bed). the apartments are very nice, equipped with everything you need - very comfortable. a nice typical polish restaurant is just nearby and more scattered alond the road on the top of the hill. the complex is situated just on the top of the skiing slope Gubalowka above Zakopane. You can drive down to Zakopane, or take a lift (rather a mountain train) which is about 15 minute walk from the complex. restaurants by the Gorski dworek are nice with a good services and very good prices. The same is valid for the town of Zakopane. I definitely...
Read moreWe spent a wonderful relaxing five day holiday in Gorski Dworek apartments. Not only could we ski right next to the house, beautiful views of the whole Tatras included, but were able to explore Zakopane´s folk market as well! One of the highlights was also a one and a half hour walk always downhill towards the Koscielsko Valley through woods and meadows and a fun ride in an old fashioned horse drawn sleigh! However, the best is Ania, the hostess, who looked after us always with a big smile and made us feel so comfortable, showed us how to make the fare in those beautiful had crafted kilns for extra coziness. If anyone wants a special place to explore Zakopane and surroundings this is it. Thank you, Ania! Ana...
