Hotel Karczma nad Stawem — Hotel in gmina Rogowo

The hotel is located by the national road no. 5, close to Gniezno and directly next to the Zaurolandia family resort. There also several other "Piast route" locations nearby, including Biskupin archeological site, and Wenecja's narrow-gauge railway museum. It is thus a good starting point for different touristic attractions, including Poznan (especially that in a few weeks road no 5 will be upgraded into an expressway no S5).||||It is a small hotel with a restaurant and a large banquet hall that offers a good bed and breakfast service. There's not that much staff - which is understandable at this size - but they are definitely helpful.||||The rooms are reasonably spacious and clean, the same goes for bathrooms - bonus points for a mosquito net in the bathroom window. There's good heating unit for colder nights and an AC one - which we have not tested due to the weather. Despite other users' experience, the road-sided room was not loud at night.||||The restaurant is cosy, has a TV screen, children's corner and has a varied, reasonably priced menu.||||Breakfasts are more than okay for this hotel class, with some warm sausagues, a few cold cuts, cheese, quark, cereals and scrambled eggs; sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, orange and apple juice provide vitamins as needed. Hot tea or coffee is served to the table.||||All in all it is a good value hotel at a convienient location for a stop in travels around...

The hotel looks pretty from the outside but the room I stayed in with my partner wasn’t that nice. There were black marks on the ceiling (probably from an insect that was killed), saw some small insects crawling on the bedroom walls and spiders in the bathroom. There were some dark brown marks on a pillow case and the sheet wasn’t in a great shape. Also, one of the plugs in the bedroom wall was pulled out. As for this price per night, this room should have been spotless but it wasn’t. ||||On a positive note, the bathroom was rather clean and elegant with running water. The breakfast was tasty but not an immense variety of different things to choose from. The hotel receptionist was nice and polite.||||That’s all about that. But I wouldn’t stay there again for this...

The hotel is situated next to Zaurolandia, a dinosaur and fun park for families. It is a good idea for families with kids to stay there if you intend to visit the area - Żnin, Biskupin, Wenecja, aside from Zaurolandia. The bonus is we only had to purchase the ticket to Zaurolandia once and it was valid for our entire stay, so it was like a giant playground for the kids.||Unfortunately, the hotel does not have any outside garden or terrace, there is only the dinosaur park.||The service was good, rooms all new, clean, and decorated really nicely.
