My wife and I ended up in this hotel for a good friend's wedding. If he ever reads this, please know that the wedding was one of the best weekends we've ever had... but the hotel was awful, I'm so sorry!!!||As Poznan fades away, this hotel can be found in the middle of nowhere, very much more than a long taxi ride to the city center. It boasts many activities that you think would keep you entertained. Horse riding, table tennis, bowling, air hockey, outdoor BBQ, lovers lake etc. etc. Its just a pity that absolutely none of them worked properly or were available when we stayed meaning you are indeed, in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do.||Before that, the rooms. ||Admittedly comfortable the rooms are plentiful with alot of groundfloor choice nearly all set away from the main road meaning a quiet nights sleep. This would have been the case if the walls were thicker. I was able to hold a full conversation with the couple in the adjoining room at regular volume, but worse still during the first conversation the couple over the hallway (!) joined in half way through. Later when I called to the wife to pass me a towel from the shower, my neighbours replied "Get your own". Having to talk in your own hotel room in a whisper to preserve privacy is not a good start. ||The decor is generally good but you get the feeling another refurb is due. When all the ladies in our group when off to get ready the electrics keep blowing as hairdryers and tongs heated up. The answer was for the hotel to continually flick up the fuse until the ladies gave up or dried naturally!||Our first nights stay was our own time and several of us eat in the restaurant (mainly because there was no other choice). Service was slow and they seemed overwhelmed by the size of the group staying and eating. This was fustrating considering the lack of alternative options. Food however was a good price and very enjoyable.||I then enquired about the facilities at reception. Using the universal action for "ping pong" and "bowling" the penny dropped and I was directed towards the waiter who had provided our lifelong wait for food. He informed me that I was welcome to play table tennis but they didnt have a ball, before enquiring if I had brought one with me! Note to self - pack ping pong ball on next holiday.||Hoping for more luck with bowling he almost reluctantly opened the basement facilities and provided a barman (a rather miserable fellow we quickly named "chuckles"). The night from here on was great. Our party of 32 bowled the night away laughing how after knocking down 9 pins, the system would then stand 5 back up and how after every goal on air hockey we had to feel around inside the table to reclaim the puck! Am I being picky? Maybe, as the pool and table football worked great and the company made it a great night. However Im concerned that if there was less of us, would they have even opened the room for us to use? Doubtful.||Highlights of the hotel include: the scarey corridor (west wing, top floor, no lights - weird); the love lake (complete with white dove archway, table on floating platform and sunken rowing boat. I am not joking); and the BBQ area which to be fair, on a hot summers day with a big party looks like it could provide a fantastic day but was not in use on our visit.||The hotel did however get top marks for the wedding. A great function room, superb and plentiful food, a great DJ and extra staff who were very happy to help. A 5* night was had by all and will be remembered as a wedding of a lifetime.||This is a special occassion hotel. If you are going here for a wedding, conference or celebration, prepare for a great time. If your considering a couples retreat either look elsewhere or remember to pack a...
Read moreFirst of all. This hotel looks fine from the road, the reception is nice and the hotel feels huge, but as it only have little more than 100 rooms it really cant be. The location is 20 minutes outside Poznan close to a very busy main road.||||Inside the hotel the hallways are long, badly lit and with a creepy back alley feeling - you almost expect to be mugged around the corner. ||The carpets has past its sales by date and are patched with duck tape on the floor and on steps of the staircases as well, which can be difficult to see, but you find out on the way down.||||When walking along the hallways you will see discarded furniture in the cornes and under the staircases and should you want to go into the court yard, you will have to go all the way back to the reception as all other exits are locked.||||The rooms have the same low standard. The carpet and wallpaper are in serious need of repair, the funiture the same.||The breakfast area feels like something from a boarding school. Long lines of tables and crappy chairs.||||Based on the overall impression, state and location of the hotel, it´s overpriced.||||||Now to the good part. ||||I was there to participate in a wedding and the he conference rooms/ballroms where weddings receptions also take place are really nice with high and decorated ceilings. and oh..the food we had at the wedding reception.||I havent said anything nice about the rooms, but they were clean.||The service level was fine both in the reception and by the general staff.||The rooms we had all had a stable wifi connection which is a must when travelling with teenangers.||||||PS. It got the impression that at small part of the hotel had a make over as the first part of the hallway to the guest rooms had new carpet, fresh paint and...
Jednym słowem okropność w jaki sposób zostaliśmy potraktowani - my i nasi goście.
