Booked this hotel to celebrate my birthday, in peace, in order to relax and to get some rest.||First contact with the hotel was great, since I’ve wrote to them asking for a room in a higher floor, and with balcony. Got a very fast and positive reply from the hotel in both cases.||Once we got to the hotel everything changed. Got to the reception, tried to communicate in English, and I got polish back. In the meantime, another member of the staff, joined, and tried to talk to me in polish again. I have explained, that I don’t speak their language, and I was totally ignored. Besides this, the person who was taking care of my registration was totally rude, putting a pen and paper in front of my and returning my ID in a very impolite way. I got nothing but silence. Not a simple ‘please’ or ‘if you don’t mind’, not even in Polish. Went to my room totally disgusted, after this.||Once we got to our room, I realized we got two individual bed, when I was specific while booking, since we are a couple, so obviously we wanted a double bed. The room was dirty, had dust on the floor(corners), the curtains had several stains, including blood stains, probably from mosquitos killed there, and even the walls were looking bad, with several marks and stains all over, also a big stain in one of the bed sheets.||||Things didn’t get much better, we went out to check the surroundings, came back to sleep, since we were both exhausted, but we were not allowed to, since we could here the sounds from next bedroom’s television for the next hour or two, till our neighbors finally decided to sleep.||After this, I could sleep decently. The mattress is a comfortable, and both pillows also allowed me to get some hours of peace, but in the morning, I got up with a baby screaming, once again, from one of the rooms next to us. The lack of isolation/soundproof is unbelievable.||What was supposed to be the beginning of a at least reasonably good birthday, didn’t start the best way. My girlfriend decided to offer me a massage, in the ground floor spa, and it was undoubtedly pleasant. They are professional, friendly, polite and they are to communicate in more than one language, which helped. ||Left please and decided to ‘reset’ my brain and to enjoy time there. We went for lunch next to the terms, but the village was so crowded, that we had to go, try, and change restaurant, until we were able to have lunch. After this, and even if the cue was gigantic, since we were there, we decided to try the terms. We staid at the entrance for 2 hours and half, standing, and when we eventually got is, almost at 7pm, we were only allowed to stay inside the water for 40m max. a storm came, with consecutive lightning bolts, and we were ordered to leave water. It was another challenge to get a refund, since we paid for 3 hours and we didn’t use it, and once we asked for a taxi to get to the hotel, we were informed that there were no taxis there. We had to walk/run, under an immense storm back to the hotel, in shorts, and flip flops.||I simply quit on that day, we ordered dinner from the hotel’s restaurant, and for it to be delivered at the room, we were charged 15% more, for a simple delivery at the room (only a few steps away from the restaurant. Simply ridiculous), not to mention that the menu and all the information relative to it, was only available in polish. We got it delivered, and we received micro portions, in dishes that aspire to look gourmet, but nothing more than that, an aspiration. ||My initial plan included enjoying/spending the majority of Sunday there, to leave in the late afternoon, but after this overall scenario, I just told my girlfriend, we were going to sleep, wake up, and leave that place asap, which she agreed to.||Got up in the morning with the same baby shouting at 7am, just like the previous day. My girlfriend went to shower, and said it smelled really bad there. ||||To finish this wonderful experience, we went to the reception to check out, after breakfast. Paid 700pln for 2 nights, in cash, and got a ‘thank you’ form the reception. Instantaneously I thought ‘so the taxes are going to their own pockets, since I was not even offered an invoice, which should happen proactively.’ No way, I’m not going to allow that to happen. Another challenge to get it, and we eventually left. ||There are several serious issues with this hotel, and its lack of quality and professionalism. The hotel looks great, from the outside, and it has a great location, net to the river, but nothing besides that. Value for money, is far from fair, and this place is neither prepared nor interested in receiving foreigners.||This place was ‘ticked’ from the map, and...
Read moreWe came here with high expectations - the weekend voucher was a Christmas gift from a family member. From the outside, the hotel looks very chic, located right by the river, beautiful architecture, rooms with balconies + a spacious communal garden with direct access from the first floor rooms. However... the interior is a huge disappointment. Feels like staying at a roadside motel, definitely not a four-star hotel! ||||Lowest quality EVERYTHING. Cheap, plastic, drafty windows, cheap furniture. Imitation wood floors. Bathroom constantly flooding due to faulty shower stall design. Cheap light fixtures. The air conditioning does not work and the vents transfer all noises from other rooms (!). Our dog-friendly room was right next to the Hotel Cafe with loud music and outside guests until 24:00. ||||Young staff tries to be polite and friendly but clearly lacks hospitality experience. We got reprimanded by a 20-something manager type for opening a bottle of our own champagne to toast my husband's 40th birthday in the empty cafe (outside opening hours, there was nobody else there). We were told - like a bunch of little kids - to "go to our room and drink there" Outrageous! Treated like dirt, our group (5 people) decided to have dinner outside the hotel. Which means they lost at least 600 PLN in extra revenue. I guess they don't care. BTW - the restaurant tries very hard to be gourmet but dinner choices very limited, only a couple vegetarian options.||||Great spa with super-friendly staff and AMAZING, just amazing buffet breakfast don't compensate for the overall feeling that you're not really a guest here but an intruder who came to cause trouble and they can't wait for you to leave. Not...
Read moreExcellent experience at Hotel Uniejow!
Almost in downtown (2-3 min walk), this hotel is perfectly located and an incredible value for the money. We know because we had the misfortune of staying two nights in Hotel Kasztel across the river for two nights, which is twice as expensive, has worse food, no pool, no elevator, and no included sauna or mineral waters in the price of the room.
Hotel Uniejow has comfortable beds, an incredible buffet breakfast selection included in your stay and a gorgeous ambiance and facility.
The outdoor area has a fire pit, relaxing swings, and loungers.
Included in your stay is access to a small pool, dry sauna, and a basin with the sulfur mineral water which has healing properties do to the numerous minerals in the water.
There are three private basins outside that you can reserve under beautiful wisterias. It’s a magically relaxing experience.
I will definitely book my stay here next time I...
