This Bed and Breakfast is an amazing place to stay in Armamar! Look no further! The villa has been newly renovated and the rooms are modern and super comfortable. The owners are one of a kind. Maria and José are super friendly and courteous and they love what they do, which is being hosts to travelling people. Unfortunately, they only speak Portuguese. The breakfast was delicious with a wide selection of breads and spreads and lots of fresh fruit. The personal are helpful and want you to have a pleasant experience; therefore, giving it their best to fulfill reasonable wishes. The patio offers an amazing view of the Douro Valley. Although small, Armamar is located at a higher level up the mountain range in the region, making it a perfect “mirador” (lookout). In a foggy free day, it is possible to see far-away. Many possibilities to visit the wineries, quintas and villages from this location, but you need a car. You can join tours as well, if you prefer. When returning to the Douro Valley region, we will definitely return to stay at the...
Read moreOn our arrival hosts Maria and Jose were extremely welcoming and could not have done any more for us. Our room was spacious, bright and spotlessly clean with a small fridge, free beer and water and a large bed with high quality bedding. The air conditioning also worked well and there was free wi fi. We also had views of the surrounding countryside. ||The breakfast was exceptional for such a small property with a wide selection of fresh and home made produce including so many home made cakes we were spoilt for choice. We found the location to be good with easy access to several places worth visiting including a boat trip on the Douro. The town itself was small but had everything we needed including several restaurants. Fonte Nova restaurant which can be seen from the property had some great food at good prices and is well worth a visit. ||We would not hesitate to recommend this property and would love to stay...
Read moreI stayed for 4 nights at the Palácio Nova Seara. I was overthrown by the kindness, the availability, the quality, the cleanliness, the comfort and the beauty of both owners and staff, as well as the hotel itself.||||An apparently small breakfast surprised me for the quality of its constituents... Most of all the fruits (mango, papaya, banana, grapes, melon, kiwi, water melon, to mention some) and fresh bread excelled. You had much more. ||||In the midst of the Douro /Lamego region, it became comfortable for my goings around, as it was equidistant from Lamego, the monasteries of Ferreirim and Tarouca, the wine producing Régua and its estates... Really nice.||||And Armamar, small town, is neatly packed with restaurants for all tastes and purses, as well as interesting sites to visit. ||||I will go back. That...
