Lugar do Ourives — Hotel in Cantanhede

We spent a night at this place almost by chance, but we're so glad we did. This was one of the best bed & breakfast experiences we've ever had. The owner, Angela, could not have been kinder, more welcoming, or more enthusiastic about hosting. All the communication preceding our arrival was clear and useful, and upon checking in, we were received by Angela, promptly shown to our room, and given a brief overview of the facilities. We opted to have dinner at the restaurant in the ground level, and again we were served by Angela with such grace and enthusiasm that we felt like we had arrived at a party, and both food and drinks were great. Even better was breakfast the morning after, which was cooked to order by Angela according to our dietary needs and requests. My partner and I stayed one night and had a fabulous time. We were in the Diamente room and had dinner at Lote 16. Angela the proprietress made us feel so welcome, and we felt very special which was exactly what we needed having had a bit of a hard time recently. Both the accommodation and the food & wine were of such high standard, with an emphasis on quality of finish/ quality of ingredients. The bed was massive and comfy, and bathroom really well finished. Breakfast was beautiful, and my partner being gluten free was not an issue at all - lots of vegan and gf options… Our dogs were welcome too which we were very grateful for. We really needed this time away - and are so glad we found Lugar do...

All the good things you read about this place, yes, they are all true! We couldn’t believe how wonderful this place was, and we are 100% returning. The staff is wonderful- welcoming, warm, helpful and kind. The room was perfect, spacious and clean, with a great bed. The food was absolutely delicious. We had a late dinner which the staff kindly accommodated after a flight delay, and breakfast. They have a restaurant downstairs and the food was freshly prepared and delicious.
