O Farrobo — Hotel in Madalena

I booked here because it is very close to the airport but I couldn't make a better decision. Villages in the Azores are nice but you don't feel the real atmosphere unless you find a location like this. This place is inside a green area which gives you the real vibe of being in an island. The houses are stone houses renewed in a very comfy way. The hosts are more than welcoming, helping out with taxis and our needs. The place is not close to anything walking distance but villages are close. Andreia the host is not anxious as I read below but she is extremely nice and careful, and she makes you feel you have a safe zone in case you might need something when far from home. Very recommended. The houses are very comfortable, with local and volcanic architecture, clean bed linen and high-quality fabric. Farrobo is very close to the Airport.

Guests have freedom and feel at home. The staff are very helpful and hardworking. As do the owners, who also work there.

The breakfast is well served, and although it doesn't have much variety, it is functional, with high quality and worth the hotel daily room rate.

As for the restaurant, the food was wonderful. Juicy, well prepared and tasty fish. The rice with beans and mushrooms is unmissable.

Moreover, without a doubt, I would place the O Farrobo's restaurant as the best of Acores and also one of the best I've ever eaten.

I stayed for just one night in December, the lowest of the low season in Pico, and chose this place because it was close to the airport for my early flight the next morning. I didn't need much as I was solo, and I was leaving too early to partake in the breakfast, but Andreia was very nice and even offered to do my laundry. They live nearby so they are always available to get something if you need. ||||While the owner, Andreia and her cute daughter are quite lovely, the highlight for me was Frou Frou the resident cat who lives on the property.
