Unfortunately we ordered a bottle of wine that we didn’t care for. The waitress took it away and we ordered another bottle. At the end of the meal we paid the check. At further inspection of the check we realized the restaurant charged us for the bottle we returned as well as the one we drank. When we asked the chef and waitress, why they charged us for the bottle , the chef said they “can’t lose money”. Awkwardly, we had to ask for the full bottle of wine, we had retuned, but we paid for ! . In other words, they charged us for a bottle of wine that we didn’t drink, and then had to ask for it back. Read moreStayed in O Farrobo and after the first dinner at Casa da Feijoca it was pretty clear where all of the following dinners would take place. This is one of the best restaurants of the Azores, mainly specialised on meat and the steakes are really delicious. Everything is freshly cooked and the portions are huge! The prices are really, really good, there is almost no waiting time and Andreia and Miguel are very warm, welcoming and kind people. They also try to take into account special wishes. We were very impressed by the look of local cows and bulls but once we went to local restaurants we were told that their beef is not local but rather imported while the local beef is being sold out of island. This included pretty prestigious and popular restaurants. And finally at Casa de Feijoca we met our desires on plates and were very pleased with the taste of sirloin steaks and the hamburger.
